(Honestly, I do think sometimes when people express themselves honestly and clearly, it's worth just continuing to pointlessly chickenshit them. All this talk about respect and civility is overblown. Just because most of the board is comporting themselves like adults doesn't mean you have to jump on the band wagon. Keep fighting the good fight!) |
Oh, don't stop there with the lecture on how one should conduct oneself. I mean the COOL thing to do is come on the board every single day and recycle Colt McCoy = Charlie Frye takes all day long. When I actually cut and pasted the numbers of your Alex Smith making an even better Charlie Frye than Colt McCoy - you got pissed. Believe it or not, SOME of us would actually like to see the young QB on our favorite team emerge into something more than you want him to be. Geee, I was really hoping there was more to you now than that but it's all you give us Shep. Seems to me this is only 1 calendar year after you being dicky about us apparently messing up rd 1 of 2010 and takign Joe Haden at #7 instead of your alleged better idea Jimmy Clausen. That got soooo wonderful for all of us, you took your creative writing skills and invented a bunch of Barking Hard mobsters that allegedly attacked you unprovoked. Moral of the story, if you're gonna be pompous and candascending about YOUR version of better alternatives - you gotta come clean better than
"I'm leaving if the Corleones are running Barking Hard." That's what you do everytime someone blows a tunnel through another one of your short sighted premature consclusions.
And not for nothing, the extent of your research is
"Aaron Rodgers doesn't need a oline so ANY QB that needs an oline is an absolute waste of time or Alo saw a jump ball." Rodgers didn't start his first NFL game until his 4th season; so there was alot of continuity established with the receivers in that duration that many 1st and 2nd year QBs don't begin with. Not for nothing but Favre had that same franchise in an NFC Championship right before Rodgers took it over so it's not like he took over a talent deprived team.
Aaron's 5th season ended in a playoff loss due to him holding onto the ball too long and the Arizona D ripped it out of his hands and scored the game winning TD. The VERY next game they played was a preseason game vrs us where commentators indicated Mike McCarthy said his main goal for the season ahead was to get the ball out of the QB's hands quicker. They accomplished that goal and it was the reason they were the only team good enough to beat Pittsburgh. That was a ginormous improvement from Rodgers from season #5 to season #6. In season # 7 he's even better. If you think 7 years on a franchise that frequents playoffs is the same situation some young inexperienced QB getting playbook #2 after just 8 starts here - God bless ya!
There's jump balls being thrown out at USC this year with the best athletes coming down with them. When this QB goes to a team without those types of playmakers, he becomes as open to the types of criticisms you love to point at McCoy. McCoy's biggest culture shock as the winningest Div IA QB of all time is he went to a franchise that has averaged about 4-5 wins since 1999. That slam dunks need more speed and playmakers IMO.
