    by about the time school lets out, we should know if the team is for real; they'll have played a good number of games against the tigers, red sox & yankees. we're currently playing at a 95 win clip but frankly, i see 91 wins as more realistic based on projected run differential. we're on target to score about 800 runs, a number the FO has mentioned in the past to be a realistc target to be able to contend. and we're on pace to give up about 690 runs for a 110 run differential. there's a complicated pythagorean equation, but a simpler way is to divide by 10 and that gives number of games above or below 81 wins. except for baltimore last season, just about every teams 81 + (differential / 10) came within 1-2 games of their actual win total for as far back as you want to try it.

    91 wins might not win the division, but that should be pretty good for a wild card spot.
