The Wide Receiver competition

This is precisely where Higgins, Payton and Louis need to step up and shine.

If they can get on the field with the starters they can prove they belong.

Even if the plays that are called are asking them to pass protect or throw a block for someone else.

I still feel that Higgins and Payton can continue to be high achievers like they were at the last level. (Louis not so much)

Our Harvard educated data dudes saw the achievement and invested some picks in them.

I hope we get to see all of them Friday.

For sure. Crazy that Hue and RGIII will be without the top 4 - CC, Flash, Terrelle, and Hawk.

(No, I don't think Terrelle will play. I think he was toughing it out knowing last year an injury got him cut. So Hue called him out on it. He'll get reassured and be happy to let the kids play)

I think Hue is happy to hold his guys back. Pryor, Flash and Coleman are already solidified as the starters. Need to find out what these rookies can do. If they put together some quality tape, goodbye Hawkins.

I can see RG3 getting a drive, McCown getting the rest of the first (Some of the second if the first doesn't give McCown a decent drive) and the rest being split between Kessler and Davis.

As I'm sure you all heard, he's out for the season. I still say it's weird he led the WR's in number of plays last Friday. Maybe now we'll see more of the rooks.

I mentioned on twitter it was odd that the rookies were not getting any looks. Someone replied saying it's because Jennings/Moore/Hall were fighting for that final 6th spot.

I didn't want to call the guy out, I appreciate the thought, but I'm thinking Gordon, Pryor and Coleman are the locks. If we carry all the rookies, that's already six.

I'll have to rewatch the game but maybe they were around with Kessler. He took a sack on just about every play so it's not like anyone could get the ball. When Hall went down, it was Higgins who was up, and he took an immediate shot from Davis that was incomplete while contested.

It is a little frustrating that the rookies didn't get much time. Coleman and Gordon could both be back next week, so the Packers game seemed like a golden chance to get them significant playing time. Why it was Hall/Moore/Jennings who all got the looks, it's beyond me. Maybe it's because they're behind, and thus were getting a chance to prove they could catch up.

I hope they get some more time next week, it'd be kind of nice for them to get a little experience, not to mention simply fun for us. Preseason is the perfect time to get the rookies going.

I am going to guess that it's because the WR room is so crowded and they will probably thin it out with the first round of cuts. They wanted to find out which of these guys is worth going into the next pre-season game with. I think the only veterans that are locks are Pryor and Gordon. I don't think this FO took Louis, Peyton, Higgins and DeValve (he will see looks out there in this offense) just to have guys like Marlone Moore and Darius Jennings make the team.

Nothing against those guys but this is a youth movement. You get young players in your system and coach em up. Will all these young guys make it when it's all said and done? Chances are no but they aren't going to waste time on some of the other guys.

NOW can we see more Hollywood????

Gordon was back training today. He and Haden likely won't play this week, but it's nice to have those dudes back. Coleman is more likely to play, but again, Hue isn't risking anything for the preseason.

We should get to see more rookie action against Atlanta, makes no sense to give the looks to the guys who really haven't impressed.

CoCo... Is this the nickname we're going with? lol (not a bad one, just the first I've heard of it).

I think Hue should pump the breaks on the guys he wants to use primarily, people who have pretty much earned their spots and from here on out give the bulk of PT to the guys on the bubble and those who need to prove themselves.

Tried to embed. Think it's one of those YouTube vids that won't allow it, so here's the link:

Starting to think Hue doesn't mind Pryor's new rep getting out there. Makes defense account for him. It's distracting. Keeps'em honest.

Can't believe we lined up with Slow-Bowe, Past his prime Hart, and little Hawk, Benji, and Gabriel last year. Not sure there's ever been a more non-threatening pile of wide outs.

Coleman, Gordon, Pryor, even Higgins and Peyton are so much more formidable. Sure, and splash in Hawk or Gabriel.

I could give a fuck about reports, these guys need to start looking just as good in games when there's actual hitting, not sitting games cause their taints are aching or not showing up in game time.

Relevant. That Eagles pick is looking better and better with every new day.

DGB was my guy and the Eagles fucking STOLE him. Hell of a deal for them.

I fully admit I was wrong, I thought it would be Kendall Wright on the way out, but I guess they decided to stick with him. The DGB trade seems so damn weird. I understand they really needed to address the O-Line for Mariota, but I still feel like they could have got more.

I'm feeling good about our collection of receivers, but I'd have thrown Cam at them anyway. Fuck yeah. DGB, Gordon, Barnidge and Pryor = ultimate red-zone offense.
