1 Week To Go: Darnold, Mayfield or Allen?

Mason, J.T, & Lamar/Baker, but not with that 1st pick.

There are 4 QBs, "Experts" have us looking at. Allen, Baker, Rosen, & Darnold. Simple mathematics, Barkley will be gone, one of these 4 QBs will not by our 4th pick. Also, why not help your QB with a stud RB? TT will be playing obviously, but I do not trust any of these guys to be our future, except Baker, Maybe.

Not to go off topic, but Barkley & Chubb with the number 1 and 4 pick respectively is the way to go. Eagles showed us that you can throw any QB back there with good coaching and players. We have one of those things...

Also: Do not try to baffle me with bull shit please. Weeden is a 34 year old back up who had opportunities to start.

That would be tantamount to saying Farmer had an eye for talent. He had his shot too, but has since been unemployed. As in nobody wants him.

This entire post is mind-boggling.

There were two QB gurus, Mike Holmgren and Norv Turner, who had high regard for Brandon's mechanics and arm strength. Holmgren drafted Brandon in the first round despite his age.

In my opinion, other than releasing Brandon, Farmer didn't do much. But, at least, in my mind, he didn't personify the dysfunction that Banner/Lombardi/Pettine personified. And I think he deserves some credit for recognizing that Brandon's chance for success in Cleveland had passed and released him at the end of the 2013 season.

His big mistake was being in the position to take the fall for Haslam's pick for QB in 2014.

And Justin Gilbert, Danny Shelton and Scam. Not even going to do his piss poor FA's

Interesting day. This... and Sam Farmer's "beat writer" draft in today's LA Times. Mary Kay started it off weird by taking Allen... but Rosen fell all the way to 12th. It's a more valid mock because 32 different beat writers each make a selection, so it's more like the real thing.

I have to admit, I don't know why Rosen's falling, if he really is. Nothing's changed but I'm seeing it a lot.

You can assume whatever you will, but I don't think that Farmer ever had control of the FO the way Dorsey apparently does now. My sense is that Dorsey will listen to everyone and evaluate the arguments and then make his choice in the draft as well as FA. He will not be strong armed by anyone. The choices will be his. I think that comes with years of experience in that role.

Farmer was inexperienced and did not have the contacts and knowledge that Dorsey has. I don't know if it is true, but I have read that Gilbert was Pettine's choice and we all know about the homeless guy that influenced an also inexperience owner with respect to Manziel. I am not surprised that he has been unemployed since he was fired by Haslam.

However, he did draft Joel Bitonio, Christian Kirksey, Terrance West, Nate Orchard and Duke Johnson. Sheldon was drafted for a different defense than the one we have now. And he twice signed Terrelle Pryor, once after Pettine discarded him, and Pryor was the best receiver we had in 2016. If Sashi had matched Washington's offer, we would have been a heck of a lot better off last year than we were.

Cheers.

Gabe's guy Joe Marino just Tweeted that he expects Darnold to go #1. Says that's the QB Buffalo would love to get but can't. He's also the only QB the Giants would take at 2, by most accounts.

He is QB1. QB2 is Mayfield. Then it gets messy.

Keep this in mind...

Rosen has...

2 concussions in HS
2 concussions in College..

His father is a Dr... So.. After Rosen gets his money.. I can see him retiring per his fathers advice.. As it has been said that Rosen clearly wants to make a lot of money in the NFL.

However.. his upside is intriguing..

And the other top QB prospects have had that many as well. So what exactly is the point, other than the poorly based assumption that Rosen will walk away from the NFL sooner than the other guys (keeping in mind Mayfield comes from even more money than Rosen does)?

"Josh Allen first overall draft pick" goes together with "Flat Earth" and "Lizard People" in the file of "Created by people who just want to see how far their idiotic idea is taken seriously by stupid people".

I keep hearing now that there are a number of teams that are trying to trade up for Mayfield. From what I am reading/hearing, Mayfield and Darnold will NOT make it out of the top 3 picks, and possibly the top 2.

They way I heard it this morning, BOTH the Jets and Giants have Darnold as their top get...as does Buffalo...and while many are 'assuming' the Browns will take him #1 overall, nobody has been able to get a decent read on what they are planning.

To me this only makes sense if Darnold is NOT the guy. If he is, then there is no reason to be cute about it because you KNOW you won't get him after a trade. This is starting to look like the Browns are going Mayfield, but are trying to see if they can get a pick or 2 via tradeback first.

Just nickers doing his usual parrot routine, pay him no mind.

What I thoroughly enjoyed yesterday was Greg Gabriel checking fake wannabe scout Ben AllBright on twitter. Ben claimed "everyone" is saying it's Darnold, Mayfield, and then everyone else with Rosen sliding. Gabriel basically told him he was full of shit.

Gabriel and Riddick both love them some Rosen. I am thinking the Browns do too ...impossible for a real scout not to.

I still feel like the Browns are going to be the first team in NFL history to draft a slow, 6ft, system QB @ 1 however, because Browns.
