The first CFP rankings of 2020 will be released tonight! This is how I expect them to look:

1. Alabama (7-0)
2. Notre Dame (8-0)
3. Ohio State (4-0)
4. Clemson (7-1)
5. Florida (6-1)

The three best teams in the country are Alabama, Clemson and Ohio State. However, all have their flaws. Alabama's Mac Jones can be pressured into mistakes and the defense is vulnerable. The middle of Clemson's OL needs to be better in the run game and they need to get healthy. Fields can't handle pressure; OSU's RB dou is mediocre and the defense isn't good.

This is how I see it all playing out:

1. Alabama - they win out and beat Florida in the SEC Championship.
2. Ohio State - they win out with the easiest schedule of the 'Big 3' and win the B1G Championship.
3. Clemson - they win out and beat Notre Dame by double digits in the ACC Championship.
4. Notre Dame - Their only loss is to Clemson in the ACC Championship game, which only drops them to #4

CFP Semifinals:

The Sugar Bowl
: 1. Alabama vs 2. Notre Dame
- Not much needs to be said here. This is a blowout waiting to happen.

The Rose Bowl: 2. Ohio State vs 3. Clemson
- The match-up everybody here wants. But be careful what you wish for. Ohio State played exactly one elite defense last year and Fields' head was spinning as he threw multiple INT's. Last week, against a mediocre defense in Indiana, Fields was finally pressured for the first time since Clemson and what happened? He threw 3 INT's. Clemson has shown they can pressure Fields, who is mistake prone under pressure. And without Dobbins, the OSU rushing attack is nothing to fear...it's extremely mediocre. This will be a close one, again, but Clemson wins 31-23 and continues their dominance of the Ohio State program.

The National Championship Game: 1. Alabama vs 3. Clemson
- Here we are again...Alabama vs Clemson in the CFP for the 5th time in 6 years. Fitting the two best programs in America continue to meet in the CFP year after year. Clemson is 2-1 vs Alabama in the National Championship games, and 2-2 overall in the CFP. IMO, Alabama evens the national championship record at 2-2 with a win in Miami. Alabama 27, Clemson 26

The thing to add to all this is who knows what these teams will look like when they actually play the games. Covid could make any one the top four teams an easy out for the opponent.

Whelp, with OSU getting COVID, they cancelled this week's match-up with Illinois...and per B1G rules, should have to cancel next week vs Michigan State and possibly Michigan as well. If they cancel next week, and play Michigan, that will put OSU at 5-0 and render them ineligible for the B1G championship game. If things hold, Northwestern would play Indiana for the B1G title.

What would that do to the college CFP picture? Not a ton to be honest.

1. Alabama 11-0, SEC Champs
2. Clemson 11-1 ACC CHamps
3. Indiana/N'Western, B1G Champs
4. Notre Dame, 11-1

Outside looking in: Cincy (undefeated), Florida (10-2), Texas A&M (9-1), Oregon (whatever-1),

I hate it for the fans, but it serves the B1G right for trying to control college football and letting politics control them. Their original schedule had plenty of flexibility for these games to be rescheduled; but Warren and the B1G wanted to play politics instead of common sense.

One of the few times Dabo screwed up by putting the Buckeyes outside the top 10. The moron said after the game it wasn't relevant in how Ohio State played. LOL! Yeah right coach. I'd respect him more if he admitted he voted with an ulterior motive to get the Buckeyes out of the playoffs, but it doesn't matter now. Everybody knows what he did. And he proceeded to take another beat down like last year. Only difference as we lost last year.

Clemson is a finesse team that can be pushed around by the better physical teams. T. Lawrence was the QB that looked rattled under pressure not Fields. Sermon diced up an over rated defense while the Buckeyes generally got their plays when they wanted to. And the Bucks defense played like a good defense for the first time all season. Not great, but good enough.
