#1 Clemson
Clemson held off a late 2 point conversion attempt from UNC to win 21-20. Clemson looked disinterested and overconfident in Chapel Hill. There little doubt that the team being a majority Freshman and Sophomores are a major factor. We'll see how Clemson rebounds after a bye week.

Interesting stat: Through 5 games, Clemson's offense is averaging the most points in school history.

#2 Alabama
Alabama beat Ole Miss 59-31. However, Alabama allowed a really bad Ole Miss team to rush for 279 yards and score 31 points.

Interesting stat: Alabama's rush defense is ranked 73rd in the nation vs P5 teams.

#3 Georgia
Bye

#4 LSU
Bye

#5 Ohio State

The Buckeyes destroyed Nebraska 58-7.

Interesting stat: Nebraska was 76th in the nation in total defense and 103rd against the run.

My College Football Playoff Rankings:

1. Ohio State
- Ohio State certainly looks the part so far this season. However, we will need to see Fields vs a defense with a pulse to be sure.

2. Clemson
- Defense wins championships and Clemson has the best defense in America. The offense? Sure, it's a bit off...but it's setting school records through 5 games.

3. Georgia
- OL and running game is mauling and the defense is playing well.

4. Alabama
- Offense looks amazing...it looked amazing last year. The problem is the defense has a lot of holes as of today. Can't give up 300 yards rushing to Ole Miss.

First 2 out:
LSU - Need to see the defense play a good game vs a P5.

Oklahoma - Has yet to play a team with a pulse.

Match-ups:

1. Ohio State vs 4. Alabama

Vegas has this at about Alabama -2.5. Both offenses have plenty of fire power, but give me the Ohio State defense as of today. Ohio State 34, Alabama 40

2. Clemson vs 3. UGA
Vegas has this at about Clemson -4. UGA would be rendered 1 dimensional by the Clemson defense. Clemson 27, UGA 20

National Championship:
1. Ohio State vs 2. Clemson
Vegas has this at about Clemson -1. Brent Venables is the best in the business for a reason...he makes opposing QB's very uncomfortable. Fields will not have seen pressure and blitz schemes like he would see vs Clemson. See what he made Tua look like in the national championship for reference.

Clemson wins 34-26
