Those were the cocaine days for sure.
I saw Van Halen open for Black Sabbath at the old Coliseum. Man Van Halen came out going nuts all coked up and jumping around. The crowd was going nuts!! Then Black Sabbath came on and the whole set got dark and everything slowed down. It wasn't that Ozzy and Sabbath sucked, but they could not match the energy of Van Halen at all. Sabbath's manager screwed the band over pairing them with the latest hot high energy act. Shit, we didn't get out of our seats for Sabbath until the show was damn near over. After Van Halen it was like the crowd sat back and had a smoke, chilled out and watched the rest of the show.
