I really like the way we Drafted.
Contributors all throughout,
Even all Day 3 picks
The Day 3 picks weren’t only special teams focused- these guys will see the field on Offense... especially year 2&3 I predict.
Day One & Two we went for cream of the crop in areas we’re hoping for quick translation.
WILLS can be one of the top LTs in the game, and he contributes at a high level immediately.
CLE “ran that card up” so Fast, so to speak!
At safety we purposely brought in FAs on 1 yr deals hoping to find a gem in this draft for our future there. And I am confident Berry did just that landing DELPIT nicely.
Late Day 2 Berry dropped nearly 15
slots in Rd3 and Added a 3RDto 2021!!!
I like it because Willie Gay&Logan Wilson were gone & we felt we valued next targets higher than most teams. It was shrewd & Good Business.
And true to analytics- we selected Moneyball candidates PFF Loves in our 3rd Round - the type Paul Depodesta’s computer spits out much higher than the naked eye scouts.
ELLIOTT at DT was identified as a rising run stuffer & inside rusher. A highly underrated 3-tech candidate. AB made a solid bet ELLIOTT’s a Riser and Starter level year 2/3 at DT. This was a slightly-noticed NEEDED pick. I liked it MUCH better than adding an edge defender here that would need a lot of work to function at the high level CLE needs at that spot opposite Myles.
Jacob PHILLIPS was the LB doing the sticking and thumping at LSU while other guys were doing the flashy stuff. He is llooking more and more solid of a pick the more film I watch. HE DOES HIS JOB. HE TAKES GAPS AWAY & HE TACKLES. He’s athletic enough to keep chunk plays from happening- this guy can keep TD drives to just FG drives with his pursuit tackling & that wins games. Solid Pick.
