I thought we had huge holes to fill on this D,but on closer inspection.we really dont.
I didnt realise we had an andrew billings waiting in the wings.AB? shhiiiiiittt. the monster from texas? he's young and mean
If he's fit? (and he has started near 2 full seasons) he'll be a beast with sheldon.
next is weaver who I did know about,If healthy? we may not need a high pick DE at all (thats without JJ!)
although I would think it would be wise at #26. rousseau can play DT.If we got JJ? forgedabout
the only positions I can think of where we need to draft a starter? SS and LB (maybe). So really this is gonna be a depth draft for us.
this team Is healhyish it will be a top 4 contender for the SB in 2021.we might be the best team in the league with JJ.
I just wanna see the AB vs JJ fight for that #99

If!.. If!... If!...

how much can we realistically afford to pay JJ? he'd be great as a leader up front.
it wouldn't change my draft though. he's not an every down guy anymore
I think a front loaded contract that starts around 13 mil since Like Ocon said Vernon is gone. Spotrac.com had his contract at 11mil after it was reduced before this past season.

So I'm thinking 13 mil with incentives as a starting point and see what happens from there. I'd aim to keep his salary no more than 15 mil, but things can be negotiated to allow for more and he has to be under Myles.

JJ Watt was scheduled to make 17.5 mil before he was cut.

Myles Garret is getting 21.6 mil in 2021.

Olivier Vernon J.J. Watt

I'm optimistic about this Weaver kid too. If he's healthy I'd give him a ton of looks in preseason and determine as much as possible if he has starting ability. Even if he's not a starter he can be a young quality rotational guy to be ready to fill the shoes of Clayborn when he retires or leaves. Same for Porter Gustin and George Obinna. Obinna is 6'02 245 so maybe he can be a guy that can cover off the edge? I don't know.

Here's an Obinna clip. There are others where he talks about his ankle injury and stuff, but this shows him making a couple of plays. What I heard him say was he does what his coach tells him to do. Seems like a good smart kid who takes in what his coaches tell him. Always a good starting point for rookies.

Screw it. I'll put the other one up too.

I really hope we draft an OLB sackman. Its an obvious need for this D.
I like charles snowden for that role. 6'7" 240 - bring him on to blitz or "show" blitz as a specialist
most of the blitzing I saw in 2020 was awful, D-backs blitzing.what a mess.chaos, anarchy disaster.

You are right Andrew Billings and Drew Forbes on offense will be valuable additions to the 2020 squad.

Drew Forbes
grossly under rated IMO a star waiting in the wings..

So who at DE? who you guys like at 26?
I really like rashad weaver over those 3 miami DE's. and oweh? is a bust! avoid at all costs.
ossai is a beast but not a rd1 talent.quite a few busts at DE here who do not pass the eye test.
I like weaver, basham jnr and rousseau at #26 and in later rounds ronnie perkins/ patrick johnson (OLB)
incredible draft with a few exceptions. DT and TE are not blowing my hair back.
some classes are simply amazing, this is going to be an EPIC draft in cleveland!

I've been waiting until after FA to deep dive into the draft. Plus with some players like the Georgia DT Malik Herring that drilled for a minute at the Senior Bowl, allegedly dominated everybody, then got hurt? Or Carlos Basham who's likely a day 2 pick. I'm leaning towards a LB at 26 since they are not valued very high and a very good one can easily fall to 26. Outside of QB's and edge rushers CB's and T's typically are drafted high in round 1. Top Safeties and LB's usually go late in round 1. TE's and Guards of which we don't have an immediate need also go late round 1.

I heard that he might be waiting to see if other teams will offer him after they figure out their cap space which implies the Browns are one of the few in select company because they likely have already made an offer.

I know AB isn't going to allow the Browns to be used to increase any other teams offer. Those days are gone.

Well for anyone who’s never been to Cardinal Stadium, it is a great place to have a football game. And the weather in Scottsdale, Glendale, Phoenix in the winter is pretty awesome if you are a fair weather player. On occasion I get lucky and get to see the Browns play there and in Denver

I quick ranking of the players in the 2021 draft.

so kipers mock has us taking collins.a 260 pound MIKE LB.do we really need a monster backing up the line?
I dont like a LB at 26.period.the class is deep and we need DE help.every draftnik and his chew-wahwah knows the $$ position is edge
moses, snowdon or rice will fall nicely to us in rd 5.for me barmore is the only exception to the DE at #26 rule
then you grab a quality 2nd round DE like weaver, perkins or jones
I dont see us trading our pick up or down.I just hope If barmore is there we take him

peps have said its not an exceptional D draft at all.perhaps not BUT its all the OFF talent that will be drafted before D players
that WILL open up the draft and make this an outstanding D draft for teams like us.
