We're up to 11 teams as we await Hammertime. I've sent a PM to expedite that 12th spot. If the 12th invitation isn't accepted by Sunday morning, I'm going to send an invitation to someone else. It's not fair to others expressing interest. Therefore, we're gonna go Texas A&M-level on recruitment of the 12th man here.

JaxDawg, we might only have 1 league this year unless we get more interest for a 2nd league. I know that's very disappointing. BUT if I didn't add people from work last year - we wouldn't have got the 2nd league off the ground. 3 of those guys no longer work at my company while we had 1 or 2 participants in both leagues that stopped putting active players in their starting lineups. Therefore, I wanted to consolidate interest and make it exclusive to our message board at the same time.

Right now, we have 4 candidates for a 2nd league. Unfortunately, all the ideal draft times with Yahoo are filling up so I can't promise we'd get a convenient draft date/time. That's why the invites to leagues have to go out as early as they do. I couldn't believe that changing the draft time made it so I had to move it all the way up to August 24th just to get a draft time before 11 PM ET that matched everybody's schedule.

Is it possible to reduce the number of teams in a league to say 10 or 8? I've never run a league so I don't know. If so, this would make it easier to form 2 leagues and would also allow each team to play each other twice (8 teams) for a little revenge factor.

I am going to set up another league so Flugs isn't inundated any more than he already is and he has done a tremendous job for all of us.

I know we are going to have enough interest for another league and we would like to keep it open for those who aren't in Flugs's league. If we reach the point where we still have openings, then Flugs' league can join to fill it out.

So far, it will be myself, Flugs, Jax Dawg, Mikey P and I believe KOA has a friend that reads the board who sent Flugs his email. Fvirsi and Gabe's friend will also be invited----if you really want in from league one we can probably accommodate you, but let's see how many others first want in.

I am going to set the league up tonight and send invites to those above, but if you want to get in send me a PM with your email and post here you want in.

I am going to get creative with this league, so no bitching about the rules please . Once I get it set up, I will post everything. Also, draft time may be an issue because Yahoo runs out of openings. I will try to figure something out, but be resigned to the fact you may have to auto draft if you can't make it. You can always rate your players beforehand.

We only want those who are serious about playing and won't bail after they are out of it. If you are wishy washy about joining, hold off and let's see if we can get people really wanting in first----I mean that in a good way. Football is just getting rolling again and people are going to be getting the bug soon.

Okay folks, I urge you to read the settings below. This is going to be completely different, with way more starters, roster spots and the scoring is high octane with bonuses for everything, including defense, defensive players and special teams.

The draft is set up for Thursday, August 25th at 9pm EDT. A couple things to keep in mind: The draft will take a little longer with he deeper rosters and 14 teams, plus it is not going to be so easy to pick up decent FA's throughout the season since the rosters are deeper. You will be digging some weeks to find decent starters with byes and injuries, but that is the fun of it. If you are not fully committed to submitting a valid starting lineup weekly, this league may be too much for you. We don't want teams that are not playing with full roster starters every week, it totally kills the league for those that are. Don't be intimidated though, it is all just for fun and there is no money on the line. I wanted to set up this league differently than Tom's so we can add a different flavor.

Okay folks, I urge you to read the settings below. This is going to be completely different, with way more starters, roster spots and the scoring is high octane with bonuses for everything, including defense, defensive players and special teams.

The draft is set up for Thursday, August 25th at 9pm EDT. A couple things to keep in mind: The draft will take a little longer with he deeper rosters and 14 teams, plus it is not going to be so easy to pick up decent FA's throughout the season since the rosters are deeper. You will be digging some weeks to find decent starters with byes and injuries, but that is the fun of it. If you are not fully committed to submitting a valid starting lineup weekly, this league may be too much for you. We don't want teams that are not playing with full roster starters every week, it totally kills the league for those that are. Don't be intimidated though, it is all just for fun and there is no money on the line. I wanted to set up this league differently than Tom's so we can add a different flavor.

That's a great job by you! Thanks for putting together a second league for our message board. This should enable us to accommodate everyone that wants to play. I like the scoring system inclusive of tackles for a loss, stops on 4th down, minus points for missed FGs/PATs, etc. Should be fun.

If for some reason my spot prevents someone that couldn't get in the first league from joining this - I'll do the right thing and give them my spot. Worth noting again, our goal is to give everyone a chance to do this so I'm hoping you'll fill it with people that aren't already in the first league. As you said, we don't want to get into "well my buddy joined league II so I want out of league I and into league II" because then we lose sight of the overall purpose of bringing this thing to the message board. That said, if you're running short on interest - Hiway is already stepping up to the plate (below) because that's how she rolls for us!
