Higgins 1 year deal to Remain w/Browns!

Going back to 2018 Higgins, Perriman Landry, Njoku and the
Duke had a good season as well as Chubb.
Glad to have Hollywood back hopefully things work out for
him, I liked Perriman he was a great deep baller that was
a guy we let walk,
Hope our starting Wr’s are recovering well but it still required
us to have Higgins back at the very least just for depth.
Higgins in 2018 was a good target for Baker.

I'm happy for Higgins and I'm willing to just write off last year as a wash.

Just a smart move by Berry. We get Higgins for the minimum, and at the very least we're getting a guy who is a tremendous character addition to the locker room and is a favourite camp body for Baker Mayfield. We retain some continuity with a guy who frankly deserves to be on this team - he's a solid player, a well-liked personality and a fan favourite.

Guys were right on their discussion the other day - he's a JAG. But he's our JAG. And you don't win shit without them because you can't have a roster entirely comprised of superstars. You need guys your quarterback can trust when he needs them, and Mayfield definitely trusts Higgins.

I hope we all show Higgins a lot of love. It's tremendous to read that he'd held off and eventually turned down bigger money elsewhere to remain with the Browns because he loves Mayfield. I love reading that. Admittedly, I'm sure it wasn't much more money with other teams, but he still wants to be here and was willing to take less to be here. In my eyes, that earns automatic respect.

Looking forward to seeing what he can do. I anticipate he'll split reps with Peoples.
 
Pretty cool all the way around, took less money to stay with Baker, feels like that connection will work out for him. Seeing that 127 PR for the back half of 2018, 5th best combo in the league... that's a large and very impressive sample.

Tons of metrics showing that for those 8 games, the best thing the Browns could do with the ball is hand it to Chubb or throw it to Higgins.

Feel really good about our WR depth now.
 
I believe that's true. They were dialed in. Loved that Higs got bigger and more sudden, devoted himself to being that crafty route runner who catches everything... but it's not like he's small or slow.

Honestly, I thought he'd be a 750-yard type guy last season and sign a solid extension to be the third amigo for a while.

Love it.
 
Good catch Masters...I didn't remember that. Maybe they consider that a 'rework' instead of a new contract...he was technically under contract for the same period of time already. :confused2:

Maybe. Guess depends on how the person who made that tweet viewed it. No matter it still shows CLE has lacked or failed to retain talent at wr
