That... is such a great video. Nails it on Higgins. He's been underestimated for the same reasons at every level -- he's just not particularly big or fast. But he's also not small or slow... so it was a matter of whether he maximized himself physically and also skills-wise, as a router.

Boy, did he and it shows up in those 2018 clips. He's bigger and way more physical, more sudden in the way he plays and even attacks the ball with his hands. To say it flatly, he plays faster, too. You can be a 4.62, tons of great WRs are, but there are variables in game speed. He's maxed now, plays like a sub 4.5 guy.

It really comes down to looks. He's a router and a catcher, period. He'll get open and he'll catch it as we saw from his terrific efficiency numbers in 2018. I believe he can be about as productive as we want him to be... and I do believe he could be a quality starter in this league, a high-end #2.

Will he get the opportunity? That's up to fate. Might take a lucky break, a big game when somebody's hurt, factors into offseason decisions.

Higgy ... gotta love him ...

It seems real, you know? Higgins liking this club and especially Baker and wanting to be a part of it. It would be a real heart-warmer if he gets to stay. I'd love it.

I'd start thinking of Higgins and Ratley as the 3/4. All Baker has to do is say something positive about Ratley's showing in Austin, right? I mean, team kept him last year with hardly any preseason action. They dig him.

EDIT: DPJ working out with Landry, could not love that more. A room of Higgins, Ratley, and DPJ behind the stars makes me very happy. Not sure about the two specialists (Hodge and Natson) but I feel pretty semi-sure of the 5 we'll keep.

Hodge has also caught everything thrown his way while run blocking and contributing on ST's. I don't think this coaching staff is playing favorites with anyone's job. Come in and compete to the best of your ability and we'll (coaching staff) decide where you fit. As it should be.

See Njoku, Hubbard, Gustin and D'Ernest Johnson who I really like as a RB.
