Indians hire Manny Acta as manager

Everyone told me he did an admirable job with the NAT's, but when I asked why that team had a better record after he was replaced I get blank stares. I don't like the hire.

I agree Vegas I don't either I think it was a cheap alternative and not hiring someone from within. thumbdown

Doesn't suprise me that they hired him. I read that one of the reasons they hired him is that he is good with the Latin players, and the Indians have quite a few Latin players spread throughout their system. I hated Wedge, hopefully Acta can get the ship righted.

stop gap blah blah

I'm not saying it's a good hire, I am just throwing out there what I read. It looks to me like the Indians settled for whatever they could find at the cheap rate they were willing to pay. I don't have a good feeling about this hire myself.

Sounds like he can speak Spanish, brilliant hiring if thats the case.
Anyone who saw us get rid of 2 Cy Young winners in consecutive years can only be thinking about a paycheck when they agree to come here.

Baseball has a stranglehold on the mid market teams.
