we arent doing anything to improve our defence even so much as acknowledging the problems
woods is like a block of wood.inert.immovable.stubborn.
are we rotating DE? are we bringing in new guys? I have heard vernons name once all year
If vernon cannot generate pressure make a change.make a trade.do something.
are we getting in a veteran safeties to shore up our disastrous centre pairing?
WTF are we doing ya'll? our defence is BOTTOM 3 IN THE LEAGUE vs the pass
we are giving up 30+ per as a given.

we are all so worried about the OFF we forget
we aren't going to beat any teams in the playoffs with this D.its as simple as that.
not unless we start making changes

he doesnt even seem to acknowledge the depth of our problems on D
he shrugs his shoulders and sends 23 out there to start at FS anyway
he's apparently an arrogant man
I would call to "fire woods" but why bother?
he wont be back in 2021
will he? this vikings loyalty is strong on this team

He might be back, the Haslam's are easily manipulated by lobbyists.

He was a bad hire, hired for the wrong reasons. There were several candidates who would have made far more sense.

We have had some absolutely God sent turnovers, or this season could be so much uglier. Minus Ward and Garrett, this could be the worst defense in NFL history, and the talent isn't close to the worst.

Are you posting from your phone? Your style is either extremely familiar or it's phone posting.

I post that way so If you are reading on a mobile device with small screen its
easier to read and follow.
If thats not the case please let me know I will change that.
thankyou

Could be the worst defense in the NFL? I believe the Dallas cowboys have asked that we hold their beer for them. That is an absolute train wreck D in every way imaginable. From the DC (Nolan would be worse than Woods) down to the basic tackling. ATL might also ask for their beer to be held

For the moment I am not sure CLE could be doing much more with the LB group they have and the safeties they have. Still the same problem of before with TE and middle of the field stuff.

They have generated pressure from blitzing, but outside of Garrett the rest of the front 4 has generated very little in the way of pressure

I think the blitzing is a personnel problem TBF
we dont really have an experienced healthy OLB blitzer at the moment
and you dont want to blitz safeties with this D LOL
every team should have a specialist OLB blitz man (blitzburg have 3-4) this is why you invest in LB'ers.
I guess cleveland D traditionally aren't blitz heavy and never have been
the good teams find a way to bring heat

the old 4-3? I dunno.cant compete with the ravens or steelers when they blitz 3-4 LBers
why dont teams switch between 4-3 3-4 more often.I know some teams do
yeah,we cant at the moment because our LB room is so depleted and neglected TBH
I expected much more in FA since we lost our 2 guys.alas nothing.

nolan and woods do have something else in common
they were both brought in because they worked with their HC some place else.

so the ravens just signed yannick to pair with campbell YIKES!
I see DE griffen is up for grabs - probably hates the dallas 3-4 scheme
would we sign him? of course not.why even ask? but what is the problem.players wont come here?
a player like everson could change our D AND he knows woods and KS.
wait another ex-viking? goddamn, too bad, its worth it.playoffs are coming.

Would Griffen To Cleveland Work?
Griffen may be struggling since his move to Texas, but another change of scenery could serve him well.
It clearly is not working in Dallas, and him leaving doesn’t seem to even be up to him at this point.
The Browns could certainly use his talents.
Again, finances are of no concern for this team, especially when you consider he would only cost just north of $3 million.
The defensive end position behind Myles Garrett has also struggled to stay healthy this year.
Both Olivier Vernon and Adrian Clayborn have missed time due to injury.
The pass rush (10th in sacks per game) and rushing defense (5th best in terms of yards allowed) have been fine, but some added depth never hurts.
As long as the return request from Dallas isn’t too pricey, this is absolutely a deal worth considering for Andrew Berry.
Dallas is likely looking for draft picks given how their season has gone.
Cleveland has an extra third and fourth-round pick that could allow them some flexibility with dealing picks.

so what would you trade to get him? for me a 5th rd pick would be my limit.

My guess is Joe Woods wouldnt know how to use him...

That says a lot considering Garrett is double and sometimes triple teamed.

The mobile version should condense the text anyway, and if you have an Android you can install the app and that for sure does.
It really does say a lot about the rest of the front 4s production, and Garrett's dominance.

I am on an Android phone and just using the chrome browser. Everything looks fine for me, other than Haymakers posts, which come out as sentence broken in to multiple lines and random punctuation. Should we same on a PC as well so don't think it's the site 😁

The browns (and most NFL teams) spend a much larger portion of their time in nickel sets. So there isn't really an OLB even on the field.

you know who doesn't run that chicken shit tampa2 every other play?
some of the best D's in the NFL

we play 3 LB'ers in some sets. what are you talking about? oh you want to blitz every down?
man..STFU

malcolm smith has blitzed a few times If im not mistaken.not great at it but at least it shows some effort on the part of the DC
we must find ways to apply pressure
johnson blitzes and they call it the CB blitz.LOL really hes playing the OLB spot and blitzing from there so..
they only call it a CB blitz because of his position.really its a simple OLB blitz
I question the wisdom of blitzing johnson at all.he's our best blitz man?
does woods know WTF packages hes calling? you wonder

If you play without safeties (the way they play, they might as well not play) you're going to give up a lot of points. And the D is extremely vanilla. I wish they would mix it up some and not rely on Myles to make a play every series.

I am not going to comment on Haymaker's posts, I dont think that problem can be cured.

I can confirm DE everson griffin has signed with the detroit lions

2.jpg

what did they pay? could be as high as a fifth-round pick in 2021 with conditions
so fu&k all! AHHH! detroit? he went to have winter in detroit rather than come play for his old coaches in ohio?
he was a pro bowler last year. goddammit all to hell!
for me a 5th rd pick

ok so lets get this straight the browns have been drafting for a 4-3 for years and years. now everyone wants them to switch to a 3-4 lol ok that will work out well ....sure i have seen it before.

Both defenses work the number #1 thing is being consistent and drafting players for "your" scheme. the reason Baltimore and pitt's 3-4 work is they have been running it and drafting for it FOREVER.

if the browns switch to a 3-4 its going to be 3 years until they get the consistency and personnel to run a 3-4 without coverage breakdowns.

i say stick with the 4-3 get players back healthy greedy, TM , ward at CB. delpit, harrison at Safety. get another LB or 2 and another Edge rusher.

in year 2 in the system with minimal additions it will be better.
