AB continues to be patient. Maybe too patient? I do like the bolstering of the draft next year, since we’re hosting, but time will tell if passing on Zach Baun (the knock on him is size) was a wise move.

But Elliot is a nice pick.

Agreed, it’s probably the best player available at the pick but it does feel like they missed a window earlier to get a value + player. Not sure where we go from here at LB?

PS I realized the thing that bothers me so far... we have no one intimidating on D other than Myles swinging a helmet.

Last year we were so depleted on the Dline
and lost D Lawrence,Thomas was a one down
fill in who never took advantage of his opportunity
and Larry O wasn’t very..... average?
Overall like the pick for depth.

Elliot will be groomed in rotation and replace Ogunjobi next year if we don't resign him, or Sheldon Richardson if we opt out next year or the following year after his contract expires.

Good move to get a developing talent to replace departures - especially at a position that requires rotation, so Elliot will get good playing time.

Wow PFF
so we doin tha Moneyball Analytics thang
A’ight!!!

Would’ve liked DE Greenard there
..... but maybe this Elliott comes thru.

LB- we’re best lookin at FA now (Bradham)
Trade/cuts.... for our issue this yr.

There’s still cover OLBs
Akeem Gaithers, App State
Troy Dye, Oregon
Or the cover LB whose mother
Wouldnt let him play football till college
... went to JUCO then Colorado.

BIGGEST MOVE
we could make now is
Getting Safety JAMAL ADAMS
in trade w/ Jets.

Or OLB....
Theres this JPhillips kid from LSU too
That we just took with the 3rd Rd Compensatory.
He’s athletic.

Dont think he’ll help in 2020.
Dont remember - he may have been
Junior Entry- shoulda stayed in school guy.

We sure as hell love our LSU players enough, Damn!

Hope that means we’re on the phone with NYJ getting JAMAL ADAMS from them.

Imagine the boost ADAMS would bring!!!!

Garbage pick. Berry and Stefanski have made it screamingly obvious they are in over their heads on a Sashi Clown level of ineptitude.

Yes, insane level of talent with ZERO desire to utilize it.

Q: Can the organization/coaches motivate him?
A: Not bloody likely. Good luck changing that tiger's stripes.

-Al

I disagree. That tiger already changed his stripes while he was, well, a tiger.

He's shown significant improvement over the last two years and transformed himself in to an All-American on the field. Off the field, he got his weight under control, he hasn't had any notable issues, was named a team captain and everyone involved in the process speaks the world of him.

And, besides:

"It's a blessing," Elliott said. "It was actually something that I was looking forward to. There's no controlling the draft but that was the team that I wanted to go to from the start. I just thought that going to the Browns, I can make a difference on their D-line."

"Honestly, it was just a feeling that I had for a long time ago, probably when I first left for the draft. It was just something calling my name by the Browns. My family members would have dreams about me going to play for them. I just felt like it was something that was meant to happen."

I want that. I wish all our draft selections said that. These colours mean something to him.

As for his production, it reminds me of the idiots who made the case that Daeshon Hall was only slightly less productive than Myles Garrett and therefore nearly as good. Bullshit. Jordan didn't produce because teams keyed in on him as their best played, and it allowed those around him to rack up the production. That's clear as day on film.

He might be great, he might suck, but he's got upside for days sounds like he's ready to get to work. I'm willing to see him paired with guys like Billings, Ogunjobi and Richardson who can show him the way.

I feel like Jordan wasn't the only one who thought he'd land in Cleveland. Man, he was all over mocks to us, always found it odd. But he's an insane value in 3, had to take him.

PFF listed us as "winners" along with the Cowboys and a couple others.

Wonder if the extra 3rd next year makes it easier to be aggressive in what could be an unprecedentedly deep supplemental draft. Perhaps create an in-house farm system at a position or two (WR...DB...IOL...or sumtin)

wouldn't be surprised if this guy makes his way into a 3rd down pass rush package his get off is pretty elite for a 300+ lb guy.

vernon and garrett on the edge and Elliott and claborn who is 280 lbs on the inside.
