Pick 88 is in, Jordan Elliott, DT, Mizzou

Vernon and Larry will be Fa's next year I believe so this is more like insurance. We have a guy who knows what's up on defense in case we lose both of them.

That is a shit ton of guys for 7 positions...I think we resign several, and some won't even make the cut this year, but we will likely have to address it pretty heavily next year.

Agree, but a couple of thoughts

1) The offense is set for 2-3 years, so plenty of available resources and energy available to bolster the D.
2) Of the starters, really it's Vernon's spot that needs filled, unless our young LB's all bust out.
3) Most of those guys are meh.

Here's hoping our young LB's are okay, and that either Larry O, Billings, or Elliott is retain-able/successful to continue to pair with Sheldon.

And then, we just need an Edge in round 1.

Okay, that's my official target as I start down mock draft 2021 road.

The entire Defense needs upgrades everywhere but Garrett. Unfortunately for us our F.O. doesn't give a fuck about the D, hence why they are only throwing out 1 year low cost deals and waiting until day three to address our most pressing issues on the team. Unfortunately Sashi 2.0 and Stefansky are too fucking stupid to realize without a badass Defense you're going nowhere in the NFL.
 
I think we can get house blind to the insane talent we have on the DL:

Myles is a superstar. Vernon, if healthy, is a Pro Bowler. Clayborn as depth is incredible, he'll be at his best on a count.

Inside, we fixed that shit about how we fixed OT. Bringing in Billings and Elliott to go with Sheldon (many times a Pro Bowler) and Larry (miscast as a nose but talented) is so, so good.

We have a lot of young dudes to sort at LB and I love the idea of Nigel for a year... but I expect we'll look at a high-ish pick there in 2021. Could be 1st but more likely 2nd. I bet we take a WR at 28 or whatever.
