Browns New stadium talk

If I was him I wouldn't either. Firstly because the Browns lease runs through 2028. Secondly doing so we essentially admitting the Haslam's do have the leverage. Now if he could pull it off a return power play for counteracting the Haslam's leverage play would be talking about a grand plan for the current stadium land should the Browns leave it

I did the PSL thing for 4 tickets in 1999. Did season tickets for 10 years. In the end, I decided I'll go to a game or two a year, pay premium price for the mezzanine level, and still be thousands ahead, with better seats for my game of choice.

$10,000-$50,000 per seat, just for the right to buy tickets, is stupid. Even many of those who can easily afford it will likely balk.

For that money, you can deck out your basement with the most badass TV Home Theater set up you could ever want, with your own Restoration Hardware leather chair, massive LG OLED, & easy access to your own beer and bathroom ... to watch games in your pajamas.

Yet all those PSL's sell out in every City. if you think about it the fans are paying their way to enjoy the sport(s). another example on how well capitalism works so well.
Trouble is many of us(me) are so old these numbers are mind blowing. I remember the 1984 dome @ a cost of around $184 million.
I can get my mind around that figure. :giggle:

Yeah, they can't demand the team stay in Cleveland and also not play ball stadium wise etc etc. It's stupid.

If owner's can afford it, and the Haslams may be able to, they love building their own stadium. One downside of public $ being involved is the crossing guards, who have zero skin in the game, become opinion factories.

I still say the road map for the rest of this century is to go to Brook Park for the next 30 years or so, then re-eval downtown and the lake front, and maybe move back ... or not.

Haslams not Krazy ...lol
I don't think they will pony up all the monies. too heavy a lift and no way to make enough back. they need County money or just deal with the city. it should be a county effort imo

If they did do it themselves the franchise would be a helluva lot more valuable to the next owner.

You get not just the team but the stadium. The parking money. The team plaza that sells Browns paraphernalia 24/7/365 and is a short walk through a tunnel from Hopkins Int. Airport. Oh yeah! A Browns centric hotel too.

The owner doesn't have to do shit that he/she doesn't want to. A politician has some BS plan? The owner can tell him GTFO and that's it! I'm guessing any billionaire would love that idea. Complete control in his little football kingdom.

SoFi was privately funded. I know there are a lot of differences between us and L.A., but it can happen.

Nationwide Arena was also largely privately funded, as well as an admission ticket tax, some federal money, and little casino money.
