This Week in Browns Uniforms

Straight out of the rule book. Hence no plain brown helmet, no brown jersey sleeve etc., unless broken up as described below

Headgear or any other equipment or apparel which, in the opinion of the Referee, may confuse an opponent because of its similarity in color to that of the game football. If such color is worn, it must be broken by stripes or other patterns of sharply contrasting color or colors

I absolutely love the new Seattle Kraken stuff. Soooo much they can do with it now and for years to come. Great colors, great mascot, great slogans, great music, endless possibilities. Also, they went through 1,000 names and this was the fan #1. Just a well done job.

1. I still think the Browns can do better, not with our uni's, but with our branding. A secondary logo with a dawg (not a Disney-like "it's for the kiddos" looking thing we have now) is something that should happen.

2. The Spiders is still not there for me, and the Kraken proves you don't have to go to the past to hit it out of the park. Modern can be done well.

3. For the Indians, there is no Kraken-equivalent, for me, that I've seen. I dunno what I'd do if I were them. Baseball tends to be boring, i.e. The Nationals, so it'll be a toned down super-safe dealeo.

A simple addition of metal flake to the orange helmet wouldn't be so modern as to screw it up. That kraken thing is cool though.

For the Tribe I'd go Commanders. It fits. A logo could be many different things or versions like a general or admiral blasting out of an explosion. It's so simple and strong.

All the Dolans had to do after losing the series to the cubs was spend a little more money for a power hitting right handed bat and they likely would have been right back in it again. But they're
cheap and couldn't pull the trigger on any more spending

If Brady and Gronk can get pics in the Bucs new digs (months ago) and the Bills can get pics of their rooks, why aren't the Browns putting out any pics?

(Geezuz, this is what I'm down to. "Where are the pretty pictures" posts lol)

They did spend more money following the WS series loss. It was also money spent on right handed bat by signing Edwin Encarnación.

They did add Encarnacion, but dropped Napoli who had 34 hrs and 101 RBI. So they gained nothing with Encarnacion's addition. They also lost Naquin who for whatever reason they don't like much and put Brantley in coming off an injury I think. Anyway they had no intention of resigning Brantley. They could've just done that and he'd be here providing stability to a now shaky outfield.

Anyway, are you saying the Dolans are not cheap?

My GOD Delpit makes the uni's look fab

They didn't lose Naquin. He is still in the Indians system today. Brantley was coming off injury and they gambled money on him coming back and playing well (he did). They added Donaldson that year too which added more salary. Yes they let Napoli walk.

Yes I am saying the Dolan's are not cheap. They haven't been for years and years. CLE spends as much to more than other small market teams. If you are looking for the Indians to be able to spend like the Yankees, Boston, or the Dodgers that's not going to happen. The Indians do not have that kind of in coming revenue to spend like that. The Indians have at times operated in the red or close to it. Let's not pretend this is back in the late 90s when the Jake was sold out every game. CLE like other small market teams has to grow it's own talent and capitalize on them while still under team control. Because once it is FA money time they do not have the financial resources to spend big on multiple players. It's why I dreed Lindors coming FA. If CLE doesn't trade him they are going to lose him. If they manage to sign him to the crazy amount he will be able to command they won't have the financial resources to put anyone around him

Oh and CLE did try to keep Brantley but they could not afford what HOU eventually paid him in FA.

Every pic I see, the brown looks a little browner than the 2015's. This is a shadowed pick of course, but still. Also, it sure looks like they've nailed the brown color exactness of the stripe/mask/uni matching. It always stuns me when teams f that up.

Making an offer to Brantley is not trying to keep him and yes the Dolans are cheap and you would be correct in saying that they do not have the financial resources. But then you say they are not cheap?
:confused2:

If you choose to parse numbers and caveat it with, compared to other small market teams I guess working the numbers like that can give the illusion of some sort of spending, but the bottom line is they have allowed Cy Young award winning pitchers to leave, Brantley, Sabathia and many other excellent players to leave all due to money.

And they have yet to win a 'ship with their business model while "leading" the team to one World Series appearance. I guess for you that's a good job outta them? The Chicago WSox won a 'ship in 2005 and the KC Royals won it in 2015. So even if those teams had a minimal payroll and won it all then that would lead one to believe that the Dolan's ownership is doing something wrong here.
