Why is the Tribe using Kluber on 3 days rest?
So they can use him for Game 7 when it comes up. Or, so it gets him some work in rather than sitting for an extended period if there had been a sweep. And if it goes only 5 or 6, then he could potentially go Games 1, 4, and 7 of the World Series. And it was hoped that maybe he could give the bullpen a rest after getting taxed in Game 3.
That said... I don't like where we're at after yesterday.
Game 5, the Tribe are forced to start a guy who has a career 11 innings at the MLB level.
If he loses, Game 6 will have a pitcher whose only consistency is his maddening inconsistency.
And Game 7 would then feature a pitcher going on three days rest for the second time in his career (the first time being yesterday), who the Blue Jays discovered they can hit while having momentum on their side.
Only two Indians are hitting over .270 in the postseason. The Blue Jays have four. And those four are all hitting over .320.
I have a feeling all the "Hey guys, remember when the Warriors blew a 3-1 lead?" talk is going to come back and kick us square in the sac.
