a topic sure to gladden the heart of many here.
last year Bmore was 14-2 before crashing in the playoffs.
as of today they're 6-4 and out of the playoffs (Go Browns!)
wha happen?
1) O-line sucks.
RG retired, LT hurt / out for the year, C replaced (still recovering from bad injury last year). RT at LT, rookie at RG, various free agents, none of them high-dollar. not conducive to a big-time offense.
2) WR suck
former 1st-round pick Hollywood Brown isn't getting open. best receiver is Willie Snead, a good #3 on most teams. one TE (Max Williams) traded, other (Nick Boyle) out for year wi injury. defenses realize nothing happening downfield so keeping a db in to spy on Lamar. he's getting those six-eight yard runs but not breaking out for the fifteen-twenty yarders.
3) Coaching suck
Harbaugh is fourth-longest tenure as NFL HC (after Belicheat, Payton, Tomlin) (I believe). he has a reputation for hiring friends and cronies as assistants / coordinators, resulting in a parade of mediocrity, on offense (Cam Cameron, Marty Mornhinweg) and defense (Greg Mattison, Dean Pees). quick, who was the last Ravens assistant to get a HC job?
Ravens haven't won a playoff game since 2014 (Gary Kubiak was OC)
Owner Stevie Ray Biscuit is known for patience so all concerned will probably get another year but that might be it for this bunch.
looking forward to starting a thread called 'what's wrong with the Steelers', which would be a lot more fun.
