A look back at Sanders in high school (I hadn't looked before)

High School:
2018: Sophomore year. Wins state championship with 50 TD's (43 passing, 7 rushing). 3000+ passing yards. 14-0 team record
2019: Junior year. Wins state championship with 53 TD's (47 passing, 6 rushing). 3700+ passing yards. 12-1 team record
2020: Senior year. Wins state championship with 55 TD's (47 passing, 8 rushing). 3400+ passing yards. 10-1 team record

4-star QB recruit.

I'm not saying this translates in any way, other than to observe he's always been a winner.

He's averaged 40 passing TD's per year for the last 7 years. He's used to scoring, a lot. That's who he is. Again, the pros are different, so we'll see.

First week of training camp in his rookie year, Shanahan knew (on Purdy). They had invested heavily in Lance and still, Shanny knew early.

Maybe a timeline reference on if Sheduer or Dillon can do it early.

Some injuries helped Purdy get in there though.

So, honest question. Where is there any shred of proof that Jimmy insisted AB draft Sanders?

• We have AB saying that it didn’t happen.
• The OBR, on their insiders page, say they’ve talked to all of their Browns contacts, and they too, say Haslam didn’t meddle during this draft.

• We’ve seen the group-think of “he always meddles, so he must have here too”.
• We have the “did you see the Browns reaction when they drafted Sanders” crowd, but we also now know, the FO did the golf clap for every single draft pick.

I dunno. It’s not adding up for me.

I’m not here to defend Haslam, but there sure are a lot of takes out there based on zip, zero, ziltch

I hope he wins the starting job in camp. Throw him in there. He's a player. Has been the best QB on the field 99% of the games he's played in his life. Will it carry over to the big league? I don't know. But we need a stud QB on a rookie contract so bad it hurts. I'm excited to see him earn the opportunity.

First there are no experts at drafting a NFL QB. everybody with half a brain knows that.

So the hundreds we hear and the hundreds working at the FO's we don't....... I say they equal out or close to it. Sanders was a top rated taken no later than rd 2. him not taken by the 4th rd smells so bad everybody got a whiff. so he was black balled(nothing racism).
the rumor of owners saying hands off him ads up. with likely GMs agreeing, if not on their own. some of this got out a week before the draft in some way as there was talk of him falling all of a sudden.

We know Jimmy never put out the order of don't draft Sanders, because we did. so
Why did they by almost every account over draft Gabriel ? You answer that. so they could say they had a fresh QB to look over ? or more likely so they didn't have to draft Sanders, very rarely teams draft 2 in a draft. most of you can remember when it has happened the past few decades.

All that said. to all of sudden to trade up to draft Sanders in the 5th..... tell me that doesn't look like a Jimmy move. good fucking luck
