Browns Pick #94, Dillon Gabriel QB, Oregon (aka, the Amari acquired pick)

Its been stated before but getting a true evaluation of anyone in this entire organization is skewed because of verifiable complete ineptness.

Spending a 3rd round pick on DG should be front and center evidence to why the Browns will continue to struggle with the current front office AND head coach.

Even with the top pick in the upcoming draft there’s very few who think the current regime is capable of anything different than what’s been happening for the past 6 yrs….

Haslams not going anywhere either so we need to hope he snaps out of deposdesta bs train and hire some football people.
I pretty much agree, except that the last draft, other than the strange Gabriel pick, was really good. I didn't get it then and I really don't get it now. Was he a Stefanski pick?

So, this is Gabriel, when the data is adjusted for past protection, receiver drops, dropped interceptions, giving credit for expected yards after the catch only, and accounting for defenses faced ... and he's still at the bottom by a mile.

Dillon Gabriel has 7 TDs to just 2 INTs on the season, but here’s why those numbers are misleading.

Per PFF, these are the quarterbacks with the highest turnover-worthy play (TWP) rates in the NFL:

5.4% - Spencer Rattler, Saints
5.1% - Tua Tagovailoa, Dolphins
4.6% - Dillon Gabriel, Browns

Gabriel is putting the ball in harm’s way at the 3rd-highest rate. But if you look at other numbers—like total dropbacks and big-time throw (BTT) rates—it becomes clear he’s the WORST quarterback in this area.

Here are the stats and where each player ranks among 29 qualifying QBs:

Rattler:
- 291 dropbacks (15th)
- 17 TWP (2nd)
- 5.4 TWP% (1st)
- 11 BTT (T-7th)
- 4.0 BTT% (T-14th)

Tagovailoa:
- 329 dropbacks (9th)
- 18 TWP (1st)
- 5.1 TWP% (2nd)
- 15 BTT (T-4th)
- 4.8 BTT% (9th)

Gabriel:
- 203 dropbacks (29th)
- 10 TWP (T-7th)
- 4.6 TWP% (3rd)
- 3 BTT (29th)
- 1.6 BTT% (29th)

Dillon Gabriel has recorded 10 TWP on 126 fewer dropbacks than Tua. And unlike Tua, who has the 4th-most BTT in the league, Gabriel has just 3 BTT on the year.

So Dillon has the 3rd-most TWP and the fewest BTT in the NFL. Talk about a recipe for gross football.
