NFL Draft - Pick #182, Taylen Green, QB, Arkansas | Barking Hard

NFL Draft Pick #182, Taylen Green, QB, Arkansas

The last 3 picks have just been bad. For all the great things Berry & Co did early... they really shit the bed on the back end of this draft. We have Watson, and two 2nd year QB's who are developing on the roster... and they draft a QB who is a major... MAJOR... M-A-J-O-R... project. Great athlete, but as inconsistent as they come throwing the forward pass.

We saw last year how hard it was for 3 QB's to get work last year... Sheduer was practicing with team managers and janitors. How is this kid going to get the proper work to develop as QB 4? We just didn't need another one of these on the roster.

F pick for me.

Yeah. Green is a physical specimen. (As long as he has "QB" beside his name.)
If he's expected to convert to a different position he'll have to show the skills.
It's a good thing Monken has a reputation for developing QBs.
As a head coach though he's supposed to be developing an entire team.
He's already a busy guy. He'll have very limited time for QB development. His staff will need to do it.
I wouldn't bet a nickel on the Browns still having 4 QBs after they do the final cuts.
Green's completion percentage peaked at 61% over 5 college seasons.

Is Green a better project than Gabriel? Does Green have about a million times higher ceiling than Gabriel? Answer to both is yes. I, for one, am not happy at all with a QB3 named Dillon Gabriel.

The last three picks of a draft are scout picks, for the most part. And they can be very important. Look at the Rams: starting right tackle a round 5 pick, left tackle an undrafted free agent, both very good. In these salary cap days, you need to find good, cheap players to fill out the roster. It's how the Chiefs built their roster a few years ago. It's what the Rams have done. Pay your core and draft well. Berry has so far hit on his early picks. He needs to hit on a few late rounders for us to be in the mix for all of it. We will see.

If I HAD to grinch on an A+ draft its a power FB/RB of which there were
many late.the ex-WR RB randall? damn. well least I get to watch him play
for BAL! with lane/sarrat and cuevas? they went A+ too.as usual.somebitch!

I have a crazy idea.lets let green bench ride for at least 2 years & learn this game.
3 years If #2 shows out.
Remember when Lamar started? The Ravens used his legs all the time. I swear Lamar would do 30 yard drives to the 40 yard line, and then Tucker would bomb a 60 yarder all the time. They developed him on-field.

Now, Lamar had a better college career, but Green has video game level QB traits. Elite in every single metric.
