Interesting point of information:
Rutenberg was under Jeff Ulbrich last year in Atlanta. Ulbrich's scheme had multiple fronts and switched from 4-3 to 3-4 seamlessly... with 4-3 being the base defense.
We just acquired Verse, who played primarily in a 4-3 in college and a 3-4 in LA. Verse's experience and productivity in both fronts gives us a lot of versatility if Rutenberg likes ot change fronts like his mentor in ATL.
Just an interesting thought.

Wiki? I live in Atlanta genius. I know what defense the Falcons run. Didn't need to wiki it to find out. Hell, I had dinner with some buddies and Roddy White a recently, lol.

No, not a Falcons fan. Although a city is typically more fun when their teams are doing well… so I do prefer they are good.
Schwartz is a good DC. Was he the best? No. There were better defenses in the NFL last year… and every year he’s been in the league.
He’s not in Cleveland because of his own ego. He is his own worst enemy. Good riddance.

thats what I've been saying. the secondary may get lit up now QB's have time
with no MG.they will double/triple V8, gameplan & shutdown the rush.
our top 3 pass D is definitely on the line in '26. pray ward stays.

I predicted JS's success here the day we hired him.It was easy.we had a great roster &
have had the previous few years under joe woods.I also predicted woods failure when
he was hired.it was easy.he was a rookie DC while JS was an "over qualified" candidate IMO.
here we are again making the very same mistakes that has lead us years down a variety
of sleepy garden paths..you need both OFF/DEF & roster/coaching.simple stuff.
now I'm predicting 25+ PPG that would rank us @bottom 5 in the NFL from #1 in '23 &
a top 3 secondary last season.just wanted to remind you all that none of you agreed then
like you won't agree now. I'm iceberg widdit.full steam ahead!

Safeties - better with the addition of EMW
Corners - same
LB's - same (swapped 30 for 5)
IDL's - same
Edges - slightly worse, but, Verse may be the best edge in the division, as he's approaching the peak of his powers
DC - Rudy isn't changing the defense
So, safeties up, edges down (although I love Verse), and everything else holds.
I'm not sure how that equates to a bottom 5 defense
Of course, we won't know until we know
And, we all liked the Schwartz hire.

Bengals in the top-5, because of Joe, Jamar, and Tee. That's it.
They have questions at safety, a horrible LB room, below avg edges, and an old declining IDL acquisition.
I had to google their RB room.
PFF had their OL ranked at 28th last year.
Verse would easily be their best defender, and here we are lamenting how Myles is gone, and some saying it's a sign we've given up on '26 already.
I continue to not be worried about our D. I'm also not worried about RB, TE, and WR. If Monken, whatever QB, and the OL can click, we'll win more than last year.
