This is it in a nutshell. Because of the attention he generates, if a hair moves on his head it will be dissected pro and con. But these points in your analysis is all that matters. Does the prospect display the requisite skills for the position - check, check, check? Okay time to work with him, build around him and get him experience. Use his first 1-2 years consistent playing time as a teaching tool. Instead, we can't even get him on the dang field unless McCown is in pieces.

no debate that Johnny showed:
A) the physical arm talent for the position
B) mobility that is translatable to the NFL
C) command of the huddle/playbook
D) improved decision-making from last year to this point

People are just reaching now for anything they can find to try and discredit Manziel's ability. All of these things listed - last year because he never played, you had people saying he had a noodle arm (had to because he was so small), his athleticism would not translate to the NFL because everybody is bigger and faster, etc. Now that all this has been proven wrong, let's see what else can be found. Oh yeah, his one other start he was criticized for fumbling - has no turnovers in the CIN game so something else has to be found. It is always something. I don't mind genuine criticism, but this all just looks like constant needle moving to fit a narrative. Your concise list that I quoted is all that matters.

I watched the Tennessee/NO game (love Drew Brees) and saw Mariota's first TD. Most of the 1st quarter the TEN offense was putrid. That first TD? Mariota flung the ball towards his TE who had 2 defensive players covering him. Both defensive players had a better shot at catching it than Walker did. It was a certain INT but the defenders both went for the ball, ran into each other, ball bounces off one of them to Walker and he scampers to the endzone. It was a terrible decision to throw that ball but actually is quite common with young QBs - hell, I watched Brett Favre do this his entire career but overcome it because he was such a playmaker. Mariota has his organization behind him so there are no such in depth analysis of his mistakes. That is the difference between he and Manziel.

Good stuff, three sheets, and I did see the Walker play in the highlights. Just look at Manziel at A&M. Whenever he got in trouble, he would look for big Evans and fling the ball high in the hopes he could go up and grab it. He often did. Manziel's effectiveness in Cleveland would have been immensely improved already if we had a GOOD big, athletic receiver to complement Benjamin. Same thing happens in the NFL all the time! But Browns can't do that because we have mostly midgets. Even Jon Gruden was dissing the Browns last week because a mostly midget receiving corps isn't going to get the job done for you like bigger guys can.

If he goes to the party team - Dallas - and light's it up, then there's really no reason to financially participate as a fan for the Browns. Nobody could possibly justify supporting a self-defeating club with their wallet. That's my take at least. Whatever red flags there are we supposedly don't know about, per some fictional reporter, then I surmise too much focus is being placed on the negatives. And, why aren't the Browns crying fowl when another team owner is discussing one of their players - openly - during the season??

Did you guys read MKC's article about Manziel today? Says we need to draft a QB because Manziel can't be relied upon and the Browns are not happy he was partying in Texas. Not good for a guy recently in rehab and should be in Cleveland studying Steelres film.

I don't ready MaryKay or any of the other gossip columnists and masters of innuendo. You know, a beer in hand = massive weekend long bender. For all we know the rest of the team spends their weekends with hookers. None of that is my business either. Again, can he play? yes, then he's my QB.

Agree with Sarge. I went many years not following this team because of their incompetence. They screw this up? Well, it's been nice knowing you all as I am too old and have learned when it is time to cut and move on.

I am sure the NFL would love Manziel in Dallas.

Greaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyt.

Cardale is still ranked pretty high

For what, the retard Olympics? Cardale is a joke to NFL scouts, the guy s who know what they are doing. The only ones hyping Cardale "I ain't come to play intelligent" Joke and Suckass Miller are OSU fanboys. Give it a rest.

We just gotta face it. The Browns are done with Johnny. They would rather play a hobbled Josh McCown than give Johnny a shot to go out there. Forget Johnny. Get him out of your hearts, out of your heads, out of your minds. He is D-O-N-E DONE on this team. The Browns don't believe in him and that's it. I truly believe that after everything I have seen transpire this season, and especially over the last few weeks.

Lane is often the softer version of Incarcerated Bob. He's just better at picking his words.

Bob will loudly Tweet - "Chip Kelly to the Browns!! 75%!! Book it!!"
Lane will blog/post - "I've been told the Kelly talks are real, but nothing is done until the pen hits the paper"

There's really only a style difference there.

At one point Lane was spot on 95% of the time was insider Info including breaking Info on OBR months before anyone else. His source and inside info dried up right around the time Aponte went to Miami. She was his inside mole. Maybe he has a new one again but I am not sure.

My own view is that the Browns can win with Manziel. BUT they need to give the kid some skill position people to help him. People grading Manziel with this sorry cast around him is like saying Michael Jackson's song stinks as he sings without any band music to support the record.

Ray Farmer is the wheelchair bound German advisor in Dr. Strangelove! Manziel is the B52 pilot who rides the bomb down to the Russian missle site!

Haha don't get me wrong, man. I'm not against Johnny. I want him to play the rest of the season and be successful and be the QB of the future for the Browns. All I am saying is that everything we have seen transpire and heard from the coaches over the past few weeks make me feel like Johnny is not in the plans at all going forward. They appear to think so lowly of him that I am shocked he is still on the team. I hope I am wrong, but I am preparing myself for the news this offseason that Johnny Manziel has been cut or traded and is no longer going to be a Cleveland Brown.

I gotta tell ya, guys, I don't think Johnny Manziel is on the Cleveland Browns next season. I really don't.

I hate to get into this JM stuff, but T, I would not be surprised if he were traded or released.
The JM fans will bring up the drops, the big plays he can make outside the pocket, etc...
I agree he has improved, but I don't see him standing in the pocket, going through reads and delivering the ball on time. In this league you can't live off of impromptu plays.

I read the Adkins article and the MK article, I gotta aide with Tangelo. All indication is as LA and MK are saying, this staff has no plans for Manziere after this season. Makes me think Pettine just might be winning the power struggle and about to possibly get roster control after the season. Johnny is gone after this year.
