Dorsey took a look at how much money was clustered at guard and instead of dancing around singing about his amazing guards? He saw down the line how that would cripple us at other key positions that matter more to modern team building.

Nice. And like I'd read (and shared) before, moving Zeitler was a certainty the moment Corbett was drafted. It was part of the plan.

He’s available? Yeah, he’s old but only 1 year away removed from being darn good.

PFF (via podcast) loves our interior 3, and they like Kush & Lamm. They feel Kush will push Corbett to start. But they do not like our OT’s. They feel they, along with our LB’s, need the most work. Think we’d all agree.

Penn would be better than Hubbard, I’d think.
 
I missed this stat earlier. If healthy, this is a heckuva pick up.

I remain most concerned about our tackles, despite the fact they allowed a crazy small amount of touches to Baker in the Freddie era.

The thing I love about Baker, one of the many, is he is very quick to step up in to the pocket and make a throw. As long as the guards are holding their end and keeping the interior of the pocket flush for Baker to work, he's going to have time and make plays.
 
That's why Robinson fits so well, so much like Orlando Brown: Big, physical guy, won't get bulled and has been trained to err toward not getting beat inside. Gotta take the long way and Baker knows how to make it even longer.

Witzmann is indeed just more depth... but he started 13 games for the 2017 Chiefs, and I judge OLs based on offensive performance, which is the point.

Alex Smith led the NFL in passing and I think that's the year Kareem Hunt led the league in rushing. So Witzmann didn't hold back the offense at all.

He's also described as "good in space" and "athletic," which sounds very much like a Packers ZB type... and his coach is gonna be James Campen.

He's 6'7", betting he plays OT too. He's got a shot.

That depth at OG is fantastic. Both signings are solid guys who can help this football team. We are loaded at OG.

I'm still not overly excited about RT. Hubbard performed well the 2nd half of last season and Harrison is still learning - he can't really be relied on yet. That Houston OL was arguably the worst unit of any team in the NFL last season...and Lamm was a starter for it. If Hubbard's performance carries over to this season, I will feel much better.
 
More of the same, regarding the O-line, yet continually reassuring.

Our O-line was 4th in pass-blocking efficiency last year.
We lost Zeitler, yet signed the one guard in the NFL who had a better PBE.
And he's not even the starter.
And Tretter was hurt.
And we all know, our OT's could use some upgrading.

Basically the price of getting OBJ instead of Hakeem at 17 was Peppers. Don't give a hot shit about the late 3rd round pick, had too many anyway. So it's very similar to Zeitler being the price of adding a terrific bookend EDGE in Vernon... but we have Corbett and now Kush to mitigate any risk.

As far as Peppers, the Browns already have Kindred and that's not to be sneezed at. He's a badass. And we'll see what else Dorsey does to all but eliminate the hole, just like he did at guard. Thinking Boston, Burnett, or a draft pick.
