Forbes developing as a backup-quality LT would be mana.

G-Rob having another very good day including stonewalling Myles twice in a row in drills. Talk that his technique has looked greatly improved already.
 
James Campen could be the best thing that happened to Greg Robinson, a kid with all the raw talent in the world but lacking in his technique. That's where Campen comes in. If Robinson is listening and the coaching sticks, the Browns are going to wish they got a second-year option on G-Rob's current contract. He's a UFA at the end of the season.
 
That's probably one position where you'll pay. If he takes another step this season, it's time to lock him down. I could see Robinson and Randall as "last two in" on big deals.

The tales of winning teams and especially abrupt turnarounds requires stories like Greg Robinson. You can't draft an entire team of 1st rounders or trade for an entire team of OBJs.

You need to hit on some amazing trades (Kizer for Randall), rob some teams like the Giants, nail some later picks (so many), and show some patience (Higgins). And you have to pull off some reclamation projects like Robinson.

It looks very, very promising for him. Browns need to trust their eyes and take the leap.
 
Recent Bitonio interview, and he all but said Corbett is a better center than a guard. Looks like Kush is the leader at RG for the moment.

It's darn near official, despite the unofficial depth chart ... it's Kush's job to lose.

The good news? Dorsey didn't sit on his draft pick like he was family or something, and he was willing to risk Corbett getting beat out for the betterment of the IOL/team.

Co-sign. I'm not an OL guy, but I'm inclined to add the tackles to that list, too.

That was all sorts of awful. Those motherfuckers need their asses kicked at practice over the next few weeks because there is no way we can go in to the season with that level of play.

Frankly, the Buccaneers have a pretty questionable defensive front. There is no way our OL should have got their asses handed to them like that. If that's the best we've got, the outlook for the season isn't a bright as we hoped.
 
Our OL is what we thought they were.

G-Rob will not get bull-rushed, but will commit 1-2 penalties a game, and get beat 1-2 times a game.
Hubbard is serviceable.
Bitonio is a stud.
Tretter is super reliable and still a top-10 guy.

Kush had to face Suh. If I”m an opposing DC, I put my best IDL over Kush, instead of Bitonio, the entire game, and THAT’s how I’ll beat Baker and Chubb.

I agree with letting Kush gel with the rest, but Arians “helped” Freddie last night, by opening his eyes to the need to have to gameplan around RG. Not completely, but somewhat.

I can't figure out why we're spinning our wheels with Kush. I can at least accept that Corbett and Forbes are young guys who are still learning, growing and adjusting to the NFL. But Kush is about to hit 30 and can't seem to separate himself from the younger players behind him. He made a mess of a few plays again this game.

G-Rob and Hubbard are far from perfect, but I feel like Kush stands out like a sore thumb. I wonder what is happening with Forbes. I've read a lot of good about him lately. I'd rather someone who is on the way up than on the way out, but rookie mistakes might be the difference between the two at the moment.

I agree that, at this stage, we have to game plan around RG. But that shouldn't be something we're saying about a 30-year-old veteran.
 
Wondering how soon we'll hear that Forbes is the starting RG. Kush had himself a nightmare, can't say on Forbes, was into the White Claws and Cornhole by then. It's a Browns set though so it's cool.

First time both me and my son were like, "Eeeeeg."
 
re watched the 1st half

almost every time the browns were in 11 personnel the bucs blitzed 2 guys sending 6 rushers all together.

the browns had problems with that once they went 4-5 wide the bucs could only rush 4 the o line did a pretty good job picking it up and baker had more options.

with 11 he only had 3 routes with 6 rushers and the browns were loosing all night with that scenario.
 
Jake Burns, who I respect immensely is pretty much implying this game had a "gameplan" devised by Bruce and Kitchens. He said it was obvious that this was not a Sunday gameplan.

Man coverage and 6 rushers was a gift from Ariens to help Freddie push the receivers and OL into synching/improving.

So, with that said, it looks to me like an orchestrated practice session and both teams have real game film to pick apart and learn from over two weeks

Offense was terrible, no rhythm, but also plenty of reasons why it went that way. A clear agenda with this first half.

I would put zero stock in this gameplan. Pretty clear there is some effort going on to improve some areas that wouldn't sync in a usual Sunday gameplan. #Browns

I always remind myself how preseason is fun to watch for scouting but results are mostly nonsense for better or worse. Twitter jumped from "the starting line has looked very solid" to "AAAHHHGGGHHHHHHH!!" really fast.

Not saying moves won't be made but I expect them to look better than they did yesterday.
