Spit-Balling

Nobody likes a twat, DF!! Big day, don't remember it as a twatty day.

I take the various coaching tidbits semi-seriously. I do not take the Brady stuff seriously. Figured I'd just go with the straight-up answer.

The concept of McDaniels coaching the Browns seems likely. I'd take the 55-30-(everybody else) that Mueller guessed (Josh, Stefanski, the rest) and raise it to 75-15-(everybody else)... because they made it through the week and McDaniels is on a private jet headed to Cleveland. Strong sentiment that structure discussions were happening all week.

Conversely, I have the odds of Tom Brady supplanting Baker Mayfield as the Browns starter for 2020 equal to the likelihood that a koala crawls out of my ass and wishes me good morning in French.

....ah...name calling. So inclusive, so PC, so mature.

Dude, you throw that shit around like candy when it fits your narrative, then dismiss it when it doesn't. Fine...just own it.

I have been called on a few of my dichotomous statements and took it. Just sayin', right now the Browns are the ODDS ON FAVORITE to land Brady. Now, personally I think it is BS, just like I think most of the comments about the HC are BS. Does that mean Brady and/or McD won't happen? Nope. I never said it wouldn't, just said this fete accompli crap was just that...crap. McD is a legit candidate. I can see why he could get the job...but if it was a done deal, the need to wait until today was voided on Tuesday.

One of my favorite arguments is, "Hey, it's your right to be this wrong but at least own it!" My second favorite is, "When my side of the argument is super wrong, I totally own it!"

Neither makes any sense at all. Nobody thinks his opinion is wrong. Then by definition, it wouldn't actually be his opinion. I'm dizzy.

McDaniels to the Browns? I think that's real. Brady to the Browns? I don't think that's real. I feel pretty good about these opinions as opposed to embracing them in spite of believing them to be wrong (!).

Nobody thinks his opinion is wrong.

Opinions aren't wrong...but stating them as facts...starts crossing that line.

Your argument to date is:
1) McD is a done deal
2) If it ain't, then he was plan A and McD turned them down

so you covered your bases.

My argument was this:
1) I prefer NOT McD
2) I don't think it is a done deal due to....
3) If they hire him, I'm on board

See, I really don't have a right or wrong statement out there. I just have an opinion/preference. YOU have an opinion stated as fact. Big difference. So if you're dizzy, it's your own spin that got you there.

I linked to it because it included the report from Peter King, who also discussed it on PFT video, who is far beyond anything OBR could ever dream of being.

I also have yet to see Dawg Pound Daily do ANYTHING close to Lane Adkins. If they HAVE proclained they have nonexistent sources ala Adkins by all means I ask you to show me so I can stop perusing their opinion pieces.

Everything and every institution, even Peter King is all opinion based bro. To bash one media as something less than another is splitting hairs 'cause we're all going to migrate to the opinions of those that most align with what we believe then reference those talking points here.

Using that information to form one's own opinions and share it here is what we all do.
:Kumbiyahemote:

Again, The OBR isn't "Media." They are a fanzine, a dirt sheet that masquerades as insider media and apparently also hires pedophiles.

Its really difficult to agree with you when Lane Adkins routinely breaks stories in the OBR subscriber section sometimes days or weeks before local or national media gets it.

Its also really good for the "backstory" stuff.

Theres no way you can deny that Lane doesnt know/talk to Browns players, front office, and business people.

You can argue if what they tell him is always right or not.. but you cant argue that he is being fed info from people in the know.

So I'll admit I thought about the Brady to Cleveland thing if Joshie lands here. It is definitely interesting.

Are the fans/brass prepared to give everything for a potential SB with Brady? I could see it.

Yeah, it would be bad for Baker, but he *could* stay and learn. We all know Brady is old and won't last long.

In the end, I think Brady stays at NE.

The reference to Bernie and BB is unfair...as much as I love him, Bernie was essentially done (even if we didn't want to admit it) when BB was coach.

I think it's kind of shitty to expect your starter to sit back and let Tom play with diminishing skills... I'm not seeing it...

Bernie didn't look done to me... He suffered injuries but he still read defenses and completed most of his passes.... we had a winning record just before Bill dumped him and we were poised to make a playoff run..The only thing wrong with BK is he lost a little mustard on his throws.. He still got the job done regardless. Bill can go pound salt. I still hate that fucking bastard.. Always will..

...and think about this...what did Baker do when it happened in college? He is NOT going to sit for it. He will be gone as soon as his contract allows.

I don't disagree with you guys, just sayin...there has to be some value to watching/working with Brady.

I wouldn't expect Baker to stay and sit, but it could happen. (thread title IS spitballin! LOL)

nick - I totally understand your feelings for BB and for a long time I felt the same way. Hell, I STILL think Bernie has one of the greatest abilities to read defenses and could have value teaching some young QB but that has never been capitalized on. However, after all the hatred, and seeing what has been done in NE, BB has my respect.

I says I says do this...

Bring in Mr. McDaniels
Bring in Mr. Brady
Trade Baker for a premium pick
Draft Justin Herbert and sit him behind Brady for 1 or 2 seasons.

Mayfield can go tell some other team he doesn't need to practice in the off-season, that he's "good."

Ugh. I loath having my opinion sold back to me, just a little stupider.

- As I've made clear enough for most, I think Josh has been the Browns' guy from Jump Street. That does not guarantee it's a "done deal." I feel like I've been "DK JG'd" on that one, meaning everything that's happened validates my opinion. It's a very good opinion. Thank you, me.

- I think the Browns are the team Josh would leave the Patriots for. That's been reported by several sources. Feel good about that one, too. He would like to coach his hometown team back to greatness.

- I also think Josh has more demands than anybody else. We don't know for sure if Jimmy will acquiesce to all of them. If it doesn't happen, that'll be why. But I also think they've gone far enough down the road that both sides are invested in making it work.

- I like a lot of this year's coaching candidates. Josh is my first choice but I like Stefanski a lot. I know they're saying Saleh and Schwartz are in play but I don't see either, or Daboll. If not McDaniels, almost certainly Stefanski. But I like the candidates on the whole.

- I don't know any of these things as a stone cold fact. I always figure that goes without saying yet someone or other dons the twat cape every offseason and likes the way it fits, preens around in it all twat-like.

But honestly, if it's fun for you, twat on (!). I don't get it but it works for some people.

Fuck Brady and fuck you.
I despise the thought.
Utterly despise it. Fuckoff
