The DePodesta manifesto

OconRecon

If you're juiceless, you're useless
Step one, release expensive depth, a.k.a., first on the big laminated FO card.
#Browns #NFLdraft2020

So, away goes TJ and the funky bunch to increase our cap by 13 mil or so, giving us $58+ million to work with, that's currently 9th in the league (we were 17th a short time ago, but other teams will make cuts too).

BTW, I think this signals Vernon sticks. It's not a strong edge class, and an edge FA of Vernon's caliber will cost the same or more.

Oh, and other than maybe not in the first, be ready to trade back.

And does this indicate we'll get one of those safeties? Betting we go after them at least. Might be a little G-Rob money in there too.

A reminder below of other cornerstones (courtesy of @brentsobleski).

Silo is factions, read that from somebody.

Pretty clear across the league: QB, LT, Edge, CB. That's where you want your money for a perfectly situated cap. Those who rush the passer and cover, those who pass and protect.

So... We don't protect the guy who protects the QB? ( Chubb).. DUMB!!

I'd like to:

1) Trade Hubbard for a Saturday pick (word is, it can be done)
2) Sign one of the top FA OT's (Costonzo, Conklin, Humphries, Bulaga, Vaitai, Lucas, Kelly)
3) Draft an OT
4) Keep Lamm as the swing man

Absolutely works for me and we will not be pressured to take a Tackle at 10. It would be best, but not truly a lock.

LOL. Nahh. Not really screwing with any one. I read it and immediately asked myself "WTH is that?"

It was a term I couldn't remember hearing before.

I tend to think it might mean having piles of info. accumulated that didn't get used.

You do realize that was also the intended reason behind JD having a mountain of draft picks and cap space too right? I would argue that Sashi exceeded expectations for his tanking goals

Yeah, I think it's both, not sharing information and not being a collaborative organization.

Stunned that we could get a pick for Hubbard but I've read it too.

Which is where it belonged. It amazes me how short our memories are. 1-31 ring a bell?

No one with football knowledge above a peewee level would blame Dorsey for trashing DePodesta's horrifically terrible spreadsheets. Too bad that it never actually happened and that there is zero proof it ever happened. There is only the lone word from some DePo dickrider in Canada on Twitter that made up a bullshit story that it happened.

Whatever dude. All those mediocre picks Sashimi, Berry and Depodesta traded back for got us 1-31 because they didn't know what to do with the picks other than spreadsheets and stopwatches. Underwear Olympic SPARQ guys who were backups at best. You guys have some sick twisted fantasy that this group who failed miserably are miraculously gonna impliment the same system and take the team to the SuperBowl. Clearly you've joined the ranks of snake oil salesmen. Only I ain't buyin. You can sell that shit to the morons dumb enough to buy it. As I said, I know the ending to this story......

Pretty sure white knight John Dorsey also tanked our Browns too. So far, haven’t seen anyone fix them since 1999. I’m not a Sashi fan but I’m also not naive enough to compare a team actively tanking to a GM with a puppet HC actively trying to win and sinking a season. As far as I’m concerned ... all your Browns saviors have sucked equally bad and deserved to get canned.
