Browns Game Thread Browns at Broncos Monday night Dec. 2 @ 8:15 PM on ESPN

For the future, I honestly don't know what to do with this. You can't win in this league with 2 Pick 6s in a game, and unfortunately, that is not unusual for Jameis. I also don't know another QB who can break the passing yards record while throwing 4 TDs on the (value) market against a good defense away. This is one of those decisions that has to be strictly left to the coaches IMO. No one on the outside knows if Winston can be salvaged into a QB that can take you to the playoffs ('25 Goal IMO).

Winston has been in the league for a decade. He is who he is as far as his decision making. Much like Flacco or even favre. They can win and lose games for you at the drop of a hat

I agree and disagree at the same time. Sean Payton, after a year of work behind Brees, was able to coax a 14-3 TD-INT start from Jameis. He was not as dynamic, but he did not lose any games for them. Is that still possible? Because, at the end of the day, if the answer is no. Jameis will lose you anywhere from 2 - 4 games a season with untimely INTs, potentialy returned for TDs, then we may need to look elsewhere. Because the goal for this team next season has to be Playoffs. And we don't have games to give. Not in the AFC North.

Still a Jameis Winston fan. And I hope the answer is we can get him closer to '21 Jameis. One of the things we are going to need to do for that to happen, and really for any QB, is to find new RBs. Nick Chubb is a King. But the King is Dead. And this offense does not function to maximum without a solid ground game. Play action is a joke to the opposing defenses.

That stretch of 6 1/2 games is a bit misleading. Starting with his first game where he had 5 TDs on 20 passes with a total of 148 passing yards. Two of those TDs came when he got the ball inside of GBs 21 yard line. I think if one goes back and looks at the game film there were probably a decent number of picks the D didn't hang on to.

I mean if you had a dominant run game and D where you on average only ask Winston to throw 25 times or less on average you could get the 2021 results. But that's not really sustainable other than maybe for a year.

I think he is entertaining as all get out, and a good guy to have on your team.

DEN is top 10 against the run, so I don't read much into the lack of ground success this week. But I als didn't expect much out of Chubb this year. If he is going to return to form it likely wouldn't be until next year. On the positive side if his production remains somewhat where it is now CLE can probably bring him back for next year as depth for a very reasonable cost

Jim's D got no rest tonight because we threw 45 times and did not play complimentary football. Zero run game. Zero clock control.

And yes, they are better because they have a coach who makes them better. They were shit 2 minutes ago.
Ummm.... cle controlled time of possession by 4+ minutes for the game.

Were they worn out by the 2nd DEN drive in the 3rd when they had been off the field more than on and gave up a 93 yard pass?

After a 4 min drive for a TD to take the lead and then allow 11 play drive for a FG?

I enjoyed the fuck out of that game. So much better than the start of the season. We miss JOK. Chief has bricks for hands half the time. No one should complain about Jameis. We're lucky to have him. He (thanks to Watson's injury) has at least salvaged the season for me. I was close to not wanting to watch another game. We're playing hard for him. I kind of hope we lose every game the rest of the season just like that one. Conklin got owned several times that game. The defense wasn't good but they played hard, another vast improvement since early in the season when everyone looked like they weren't into it.

We're fucked the next two seasons unless Watson has some kind of miracle comeback, but I don't even think TBPP would think that very likely, or we lucky and hit on a 3rd round QB or something like that.

I'm fine with Jameis going into next season as the starter with an entire off-season to prepare. I don't think he's going to pull a Geno Smith, but we don't have a lot of choices.

Oh yeah, Denzel Ward is a bad motherfucker.
