NFL Draft QB Draft Watch 2026

Mendoza's going 1st, so we'd have to trade up. If Jets end up #1 we won't get him. I don't see another QB I'd spend a 1st rounder on. So for me, it's Mendoza in the 1st or Klubnik or someone else I think is better than Sanders in the 2nd or 3rd.

If not Mendoza, let's trade back, take some defenders, and worry about the offense on Saturday.
In 2024, we had no offense, so we traded back, and drafted defense.
So, why change?
It's our MO.

Everything else first, then QB later, sometime, whenever, at one point, maybe, kinda, if we remember, when we get around to it, not that worried about it, I'm gonna take a nap, then roll some dice, then overdraft a midget and a project before happy hour on day 3.

Carson Beck is solid option to go after as well as Nussmeier if you want a bigger guy or Allar. I'm not sure where in the draft these guys fit and if drafting other talent before them is the best way to go, so be it.

But we are going to draft a QB. In this draft. High in this draft. I am not afraid to get a QB outside of Mendoza if it's not him.

Mendoza is the only one I see who looks better than Sanders did last year. And I watch a lot of college football and stay away from the highlight reels.

Don't be so honest. It hurts.

So you've forgotten that Sanders is a 5th round project and Cam Ward went #1 in the draft or are you saying you only want the QB who has been hot all season or something to the effect of you can scout the QB position? Idk?

Just stating my opinion. No one but Mendoza has really shown serious NFL traits, and he's kind of a throwback, pocket guy. Not the young athletic Qbs that are playing well (Maye, Daniels). Sanders didn't play like a 5th round project in college. If he did, then all of them but Mendoza should go in the 5th.

Simpson: very good when protected, not so much when under pressure.
Klubnik: I think he's really talented. Clemson just fell apart, but I don't think it was him. I we can't get Mendoza, he'd be my pick right now. But I don't know about a 1st. Guess he could change a lot of minds in his favor (opposite of what Shedeur did) if he throws well and knocks the interviews out of the park.
Allar: Honestly, I've been completely unimpressed with his arm and accuracy and he's big but not athletic. I'm a hard pass on him until the 4th or 5th.
Nussmeier: Interesting QB. I don't think he's been better in college than Sanders was. I'm not sure he's more talented. 1st round talent? I don't think so.
Beck: I liked Jaxson Dart better, and I didn't think Dart was very good. Still not sure he can consistently do it in the NFL. But Dart has more heart in him than I thought. Not sure about Beck's heart.
Dante Moore: Oregon QBs scare me. They all look the same and none of them make it big in the pros.
Sellers: Talented but green. bet he stays in college.
If Manning were to come out, I'd take him over Mendoza. Kid is going to be a great pro. He has very little help on this Texas team. But he's got all the talent in the world. Like a young Josh Allen.

Again, just my opinions on them. And I'm no QB scouting guru. Even though I was right about Mahomes and Dak Prescott. I honestly wasn't terribly onboard when we drafted Mayfield, but he won me over in 2020.

Whomever they pick, of course, I'll hope and pray they are the answer. Just like I'm hoping and praying Sanders can be the guy.

Generally that's what people I listen to are saying. and I listen to people talk about football more than I watch anymore, while I'm working, driving etc.
If we can't get him take a #1 WR so he can be ready for our QB when he gets here.

Most of us watch the draft pretty close year after year, taking in All the info like junkies. because we are. and no one has fallen in the Draft like Shedeur EVER. unless they were arrested. sure they can be off a round or so but not 2 rounds or more. if there's not a book out already there will be a few.

It's just crazy to me how many last year were campaigning for us to wait until the 2026 draft, when Manning, Allar, Nuss, Klub, and Sellers would be coming out ... all of whom are "no-doubt" better than Ward, Sanders, and Dart.

I contended over and over that "waiting until next year" is a sucker's bet, as you never know. If you need a QB, then swing every year until you hit on one.

Here we are and they've all gone down in stock. Unless Manning balls out to finish the season AND comes out. The kid is from a wealthy family and made millions last year, so if I'm him, I enjoy another year of college. You can only be in college for a short amount of time in your life. The working world will always be there. Heck, he's already financially set for life. He's no financial OBJ. He's got a head on his shoulders and that family knows how to grow wealth.

I don't think Manning is coming out. And I agree we need to take a QB. Perhaps not with our 1st pick though. But the eye test is what it is, and Sellers, Klubnik, and Nusseimer haven't played as well this season as last. I still think Klubnik has NFL starting talent. I've only seen one Clemson game and he's kind of in a Manning situation this season at Clemson - not much of a supporting cast. I think we're going to win too many games to be in a position to draft Mendoza. But we do have the capital to make the Titans an offer they can't refuse.

Klubnik and Nussmeier have played most of this past season injured. Sellers is definitely off the market unless he falls to the 5th round, or something.

That's why I think those two and Beck are possibilities. I also think it's not with our top 5 pick but that depends on a trade down, how far down we move and what we get for it and where that new position puts us relative to teams in front of us that are looking for a QB too.

Beck in particular shows a lot of accuracy but he hurt his throwing arm two years ago. He will need a thorough medical exam as well as his combine testing.

I think they just might take Mendoza. I would
It looks like the Browns will end up in about the 5-7 spot.
Mendoza is likely to go 1,2,or 3.
Sure, I'd take him too.
It's not impossible but, Berry will have to do some wheeling and dealing to make it happen.
And the Browns currently have Watson in '26, and both Gabriel/Sanders still unproven on rookie contracts.
Another QB would mean 4.
A $230,000,000 albatross , a couple project QBs from the '25 draft and a rookie with more potential than the first three.
I don't have much faith in Stefanski getting through a "too many QBs" situation (again) and some how getting the team to be cohesive for '26.
If they cut Watson loose and move forward, maybe then.
As long as Watson is there the other 3 will be question marks standing around undeveloped.
