Browns The salary cap thread

Current Over The Cap Number - negative $6,873,463

Rollover - gained $22,079,734

Insurance - gained $5,000,000

Salary Cap Finalised - gained $6,000,000

Post June 1st Retirement (Bitonio) - gained $16,430,000 (even if he is extended they will gain around $12m of cap space)

Restructured (Watson & Ward) - gained $48,240,000

13 More Players To Get To A Top 51 - reduced $11,505,000

This would mean the Cleveland Browns have a positive cap space of $79,371,271 come week one of the 2026 league year. If you pay this as a signing bonus then it is five times this amount.

TL;DR version:

… (With these reasonable moves) this would mean the Cleveland Browns could have a positive cap space of $78,240,382 come week one of the 2026 league year. While this might not seem like a lot of money you can spend significantly more than this. If you pay this as a signing bonus then it is five times this amount.

$391,200 in cap space, if totally maxed, which of course won’t happen, but it is possible.

Excerpt

The Cleveland Browns have been the largest spenders in terms of cash over the last five years. This shows no signs of slowing down as their spending model is sustainable. Due to Jimmy Haslam's cash rich nature and Andrew Berry's planning they have have done this whereas other teams can't attempt this.

This will never replace the issues of having a talent deficit at the quarterback position. But if you can do both of these things then you get a significant advantage. A Browns team is never going to have the issues the Bengals do with their players calling for team leadership to pay their players and allow them to compete.

It's too bad all Jimmy's spending has gotten us nowhere. So far.

Yup ...

For example, the Browns can absolutely do the Watson contract + a Willis contract. If they don't do it (it's highly unlikely), it's because they don't want to, not because they can't, and not because if they do, "they won't be able to afford anyone else".
