I could see an edge if AB is playing 4D chess.

1. Get a young edge up & ready for 2027.

2. Trade MG before the 2027 draft for 1st round picks in 2027.

3. The rest we know. Get your QB and away we go.

not a disagreement but didn't we just sign epenesa? hes a starting DE not a "rotational" DE
as media have reported.you see I wanted us to draft him & Ive been following his career ever since
MKC was saying wright has @5-6 sacks a year? or should have playing opposite MG.no he dont? his stats suck.
wright is a fail.forget the sack #.wright has zero impact. while AJ is a backfield wrecker
while sack # dont really reflect that go watch the tape.dont listen to the media's confusing
down-playing of his talent.he's only 27 and will be better than clowney was.the best end weve had
not named MG.wright is a fail & is being replaced.this down-playing is to cover that draft mistake up.
If we drafted reece as an edge/LB hybrid? YES! I could get behind that.the others? terrible DE draft.pass.

this reminds me of takitaki. when you draft an "outsider" you get reach talent.when we keep
players just because we drafted them it shows when they leave, they cannot continue
in the NFL and get cut 1-2 years after.wright will be the same.who would pick him up If we cut him?

mason graham?...we should trade him today. 5th overall with 1/2 a sack? STOP IT! fail.trade
there are 2-3 NFL DT in this draft.last year there was zero.
you know what we'd get for graham today? for those of his defenders you cannot deny? a 3rd.maybe.
now graham? now thats a rotational player! 5th overall.. my god.

Epenesa is a JAG. You may love the guy, like we do our guys, but he's a jag. Yeah, he may have started some games, but we have that guy already. Alex Wright, which automatically means Epenesa is a rotational edge. We drafted Alex Wright. We developed Alex Wright. We paid Alex Wright. Which means Epenesa is the rotational guy until he shows he's better than Alex Wright. So, in order for Epenesa to start ahead of Wright he will have to be head & shoulders better than AB's draft pick. Can that happen? Sure! But if it's anyhow close to even its Wright who will start.

As far as trading Graham I think he's our 2nd best DT outside of Malik Collins. As a rookie! Who played through injury the last half of the season. DT's are not the guys to go after QB's. Everybody knows that. Cam Heyward from Pit didn't get more than 1.5 sacks in a season until his third season in the NFL and averaged 4.5 sacks his first 5 seasons! At any rate...

I'm down with trading guys. Anybody.

As long as we are getting fair compensation in return.

If you're right wright will smoke him in training camp.
wrights career numbers are close to AJ'S 2024 numbers but ok.
wright is 2 years younger so he might dominate in camp.sure
hopefully working against a top rookie OT

DT is a real sombitch. he might come good as you say. 2024 #1DT 16th overall,byron murphy had 1/2
a sack rookie year then last year 7 sacks! can graham follow that with MG on his hip?
lets hope so.

Espenesa was brought in to replace Cam Thomas.... and he is a clear upgrade over Thomas. Not sure why we are talking about him starting? Can he win the job? Of course. Wright isn't some stud. But we'll see how it shakes out in camp.

And no, you don't trade Graham, a rookie who showed tremendous promise and upside in year 1. That's just silly talk.
 
Grossi and others keep saying this guy won't be our starting center.
Seems okay to me.
Having said that, we have a long way to go at IOL. Bitonio decision, draft, and post-draft FA thing.


 
He's a Guard that can play Center.

We have Wypler and a middle round pick on a Center is not a bad way to go. Wypler is just barely enough.
I think we can improve there but it depends on how the draft goes and if Wypler can show improvement.
 
Interesting article from Terry Pluto regarding Parker Brailsford winning the job at Center. THIS WOULD BE HUGE if he could nail it down. I admit.. I know absolutely nothing about brailsford as I've not watched him play a single snap...It doesn't really matter though. Him winning the center job would be MASSIVE.. as It would allow the others to play their best position. He did after all first play at Washington for a season and was good enough to start on Alabama's OL.. So we know he had SEC competition. Center is a new spot. They could just throw him in there is he excels during camp.. but my thoughts here that IF they think he can start.. the will NOT throw him in there, but mix him in for the first quarter of the season.. then start him depending upon how he holds up. To get a starting center out of a 5th rounder is a major coup... and truthfully.. as far as 5th rounders go.. if we get a competent backup center and guard out of him and a guy who can develop over a couple years..that's actually a pretty good outcome too. Not as good as getting a starter...but having guys after round 4 who can contribute is a plus for ANY NFL roster.. Here is the article link. MSN
 
Right. Like Nick Harris he is under sized and will have to bulk up.

Also, like Nick Harris is likely a better backup but you never know this early in his career and making himself into a starting C would really create some young depth on the OLine.
 
So, here's our current projected starting OL. The only reason to feel good about it is that it's better than last year.
Dawand, Barber, and Brailsford offer some hope too. Saw that Barber guy walking out. He's a textbook OT in appearance.

I tend to agree with this. Several Tackles can play guard too. I can possibly see Luke Wyler IF we keep 10 ... but depending upon how he shows up in camp and if he's healthy.. ..but I tend to agree we'll keep just 9. We kept 9 last year on the original 53 and 10 the two years prior... However, it's almost certain we keep 3 and maybe even 4 QB's.. 3 is more likely.. So going with 9 OL makes the most sense.
 
I could see Gabriel getting signed by Atlanta.. due to injuries... but I'm guessing he's on somebody's practice squad for the season.. not a roster... Trade talk.. pfft.. No one is trading for him.. not happening.
