NFL The Beast draft guide 2026 is out

OconRecon

If you're juiceless, you're useless

Some Beast nuggets:

- Fano is the highest ranked OL
- Tate is 10th on the big board
- Tyson, Concepcion, and Cooper are neck and neck in the 20's
- Ty Simpson is 42nd
- Malachi Fields is 58th (about right)
- Chris Brazelle is at 96th (lol)
- Markel Bell at 98th
- Nuss is QB3
- Cole Payton > Carson Beck
- The ND RB's are RB1 and RB2
- The order of the OT's goes Fano, Mauigoa, Freeling, Proctor, Lomu, Miller
- Jennings Dunker is listed as a G

QB1
Fernando Mendoza
Indiana
The clear QB1: intuition, throwing accuracy and confidence are superpowers.

QB2
Ty Simpson
Alabama
A Daniel Jones with fewer physical traits; mid-level starter at best, backup at worst.

QB3
Garrett Nussmeier
LSU
An aggressive competitor whose throws can win games — and lose them, too.

QB4
Drew Allar
Penn State
Impressive size and arm strength, but passing instincts need improvement.

QB5
Cole Payton
North Dakota State
A dynamic dual-threat prospect who will need reps and time to develop.

QB6
Carson Beck
Miami
A cerebral, experienced pocket passer, but may struggle playing out of structure.

QB7
Taylen Green
Arkansas
Boasts an amazing highlight reel — and 37 turnovers in the last two seasons.

QB8
Cade Klubnik
Clemson
Adequate arm talent but inconsistent pocket presence; on track to be a backup.

QB9
Haynes King
Georgia Tech
Needs to see things much faster to make it in the NFL, but may make it as a backup.

QB10
Joe Fagnano
UConn
A fundamentally sound passer who projects as an NFL reserve.

WR1
Carnell Tate
Ohio State
A Day 1 NFL starter and potential Pro Bowler.

WR2
Makai Lemon
USC
Hints of Amon-Ra St. Brown. Not wildly athletic, but a likely starter at slot or Z.

WR3
Jordyn Tyson
Arizona State
An elite ball-catcher who evokes Stefon Diggs, and a likely NFL starter.

WR4
KC Concepcion
Texas A&M
Needs work at the edges, but has the versatility and talent to be a starting slot receiver.

WR5
Omar Cooper Jr.
Indiana
An inside-outside weapon with run-after-catch ability.

WR6
Denzel Boston
Washington
Makes up for lack of top-end speed with strong hands and large catch radius.

WR7
Germie Bernard
Alabama
Just a good football player, with a well-rounded, pro-ready skill set.

WR8
Chris Bell
Louisville
A rare NFL combination: big, strong and explosive. Should start when he’s healthy.

WR9
Malachi Fields
Notre Dame
Shades of Michael Pittman, but must work on expanding his route tree.

WR10
Antonio Williams
Clemson
A controlled, fluid athlete who projects best in the slot.

This season I agree with QCT.
If Tate is still on the board at 6 I want that weapon.
No trade down, no trying to be the smartest one in the room.
Put the man's name on the card and send it to the commish.
Grab the high grade receiver for a change.
If Tate is gone then go back to trying to be the smartest in the room.
After Tate I like Cooper, and the 6'5" Fields.
Then piece together an O line.

I just read Blake Miller from Strongsville was an LT through middle school and high school before Clemson moved him to RT.
4 games into his freshman year in high school, he bumped out the starter, and he was starting at LEFT tackle. Played there for 4 years.
(unlike Jed, who played RT from Pop Warner through college until we got the bright idea to move him to LT)

I'd love Ohio State's Tate at 6, and NE Ohio's Blake Miller at 24.

For the trade-back thoughts, I'm thinking stockpiling for next year isn't happening. AB needs to back-to-back on drafts in order to secure his job going forward. He's not going to be keen on setting up the next GM with draft capital.

So, if we do inch back a few picks, with like the Chiefs at 9 so they can come get Jeremiah Love, it'll garner 2026 compensation.
Just a thought. Who knows. Maybe AB had reassurances even if he flops this draft ... but I doubt it.

I'm good to stick-&-pick though. We have two 1sts and a high 2nd. That's good enough to, like you say, not get cute.

I agree with this. Every team needs a WR who scares the other teams. Tate is that guy.. no questions. We have not had that in a very long time. Judy as a #2 with Bond and Tillman fighting it out for 3-4 makes us dangerous with Judkins. …. MORE IMPORTANTLY Next years QB class is so loaded, that any team picking before 20 in the first round has a pick between a couple potential QB1’s. It’s not essential that we have 2 first rounders to get a QB1 next year if we determine Shedeur is not going to be the man. Take Tate if he’s there .. if not.. then trade down.

I would plan on taking somebody else at 6 if Tate is off the board. Just in case a trade down is not happening and Tate is gone.

The FO will do a bunch of different scenarios and who they will target for any & all instances, I'm sure.

Tate being gone before we pick at 6 is a bad day for the Browns.

If Tate is gone.. you have a choice between best Tackle or Caleb Downs then take Concepcion with the next pick.. And hope Bito is coming back..

Mendoza, Love, and Tate and the surest bet, for skill guys in this draft. After those 3, every player has a concern.

I hope we take Tate but have some favorites if we don't.

If we take Tate at 6, and not an OT, then I'm eyeballing ...
  • Mo Freeling
  • Blake Miller
  • Caleb Lomu
  • Markel Bell

If we go OT at 6, and not a WR, then I'm thinking hard on ...
  • KC Concepcion
  • Omar Cooper
  • Malachi Fields
  • Chris Bell
If Love and/or Tate are there at 6, people may call, and the trade partners I'm looking at are ...
  • The Commanders at 7, to make sure they get Love
  • The Chiefs at 9, to get Love
  • The Bengals at 10, to get an edge
  • The Cowboys at 12, to get Tate or Love

I'd have a very hard time passing on Love if he's there at #6. He reminds me of Fannin Jr., only not a sleeper, and faster. Dude is a badass football player. I'd move him to slot and use him in the backfield too. Last thing I want is him going to the Chiefs or Bengals.

The other surest bet is S Caleb Downs. I'd add Downs to the list of Love and Tate to teams to look at as trade partners as well as Bains.

The Beast did a full 7-round mock, including a trade with Dallas. Boston and Cooper were also available in his mock at 20
