Well between Free agency and the draft.. The OL is no longer a weakness; at least on paper. It's a huge job for our OL coach with all brand new starters. I think I say this every year.. but this is the primary unit on the field that MUST play as a unit. Each guy has to know and trust what the guy next to him is doing. It might look rough at the beginning of the year but the pieces are there. I'm not crowning us as a great OL.. far from it...but it should no longer be the weakness. If we are average to above average with our D and skill position players.. provided Judkins is at least 90% we will be find.. ...However, sometimes it takes another year. The fracture does not concern me.. he's young...but the full dislocation of the ankle??? That's the question mark.. Dylan Sampson may need to carry the load a bit more at the start of the year.. and that's OK.. I'm sure he's gotten stronger this offseason. Very pleased with this draft thus far.
I think he'll be a swingman backup G-T.
We'll see and at this point in the draft anyone of the draftees selected are going to have holes in their game.
We are looking at ST'ers & role players that by chance can be developed into bigger roles.
Easily my least favorite pick up to this point. Could be moved to OG later, but there were better OT an OG options available IMO. Not going to dwell on it though... he won't be counted on early and will have time to develop.
markel bell surprisingly went early on us so we went plan B. taking utility O-line players
fano/barber it seems we are learning not drafting mauigoa for LT
watching TE joly sit there (after all the terrible TE picks) was painful.
Uh...the kid plays with excellent leverage. Reminds me of a young Wyatt Teller and yeah he looks like a guard here.
I'd like to see his bend in short yardage and goal line situations cause the first thing I saw was before the clip started he looked a bit high in his set, but it might be that he's taller than most.
Pregnon wasn't for us in the 1st round. Not that he's a bad pick, but we needed WR's after Fano and when Boston was sittin' there at 39, well hell yeah!
I thought so on Proctor and unless Barber shows he's bonafide starting tackle, he's likely a T-G swingman with the emphasis on Guard.
It'll all play out in camp and I wish all these kids good luck.
