We swapped edges, added some draft picks, and have the same QB issue we've had since 1999.

Rebuilding since 1999? That's fair.
But, this isn't the Sashi Brown days.
I could see us trading Denzel at the trade deadline though, if it's all going to shit.

If Watson or Sanders can't do it, then yep, it ends up, it's a rebuild.

But, until we only have like 5 wins at Thanksgiving, I'll still pull for W's, and not conceded rebuild status.

I am not a part of what you believe is "we".

Ward being gone is 100% true. At some point. Not any time soon. We need another CB in the slot as it is. Myles Harden showed a few things so maybe he can build on that and be reliable. Same for Dom Jones on the outside as a rotational backup guy that flashed.
🤞 🤞 🤞

On Denzel, like Myles, he's right at the end of his prime. Well, maybe more than Myles, as there are still some high-end edges in their young 30's, but for a corner, that gets tough.

Grok says Denzel would bring a 1st or a 2nd. Of course, the problem of waiting until the deadline, is you're only talking about competitive teams who would be interested, so it'd likely be a late round picks.

We could end up with these draft picks:

1
1 (LAR)
2
2 (Ward to BUF?)
3
4
4(NYG)
4(SEA)
5
5(TEX)
7
7(TEX)

Watch Burrow go down, they end up with the #1 overall, and we have to send them all the picks.

We aren't trading Denzel because we aren't rebuilding. The Browns are playing to win now. Berry only traded Myles because we got back a Top 10 DE in the trade... because we are trying to win now.

If we absolutely stink this season, he is a candidate at the deadline. But even then, a 2nd is about the best we can hope to get back.

...and I'd add that IF Sanders is the guy moving forward, we are going to add a lot of high end, young talent in the 2027 draft
that added with a couple of FA's makes us a top team in the AFC. I know, I know...counting chickens...

Sanders is the guy moving forward
That's the dream.

Scenarios I'm good with

Preference #1: We start Sanders, he plays well, and then we continue to add to the '25 & '26 draft classes in '27 (now that AB has found his groove)
Preference #2: We start Sanders, he doesn't work out, and then we go to plan B and use what capital we have to draft QBOTF.
Preference #3: We start Watson, he does well or he doesn't (it's his last year here), and then draft QBOTF.

Not saying I'm right or how is should proceed. It's just my pref here in early June on the eve of mini-camp.
Heck, we might know this week it'll be the 3rd option if Watson can bury Sanders for this year's QB1.

Grossi predicting Watson will be first man up today.
The press will be at all 3 days this week.

No need to be sorry.. it's obvious to anyone with eyes we are rebuilding. What's encouraging is the core we are rebuilding around is looking pretty damned good.
On Defense the core is VERSE, GRAHAM, SCHWESSINGER, and possibly McNeil-Warren .. on offense Fano, Judkins, Fannin, Concepcion and Boston.and possibly Bond ... The offense is stacked with new skill position talent. We will almost certainly re-tool the CB spots with at least one high draft pick next year. The OL is stable for several years after free agency. This group just needs to jell even if Fano is the only star... it's not important to have stars if they can play as a unit. We had stars at both guard spots the past 6-8 years and it got us nowhere. We will see if Sheduer can be the guy. IF NOT we have a solid team to insert a rookie into; surrounded by playmakers... We are going the right direction here. If we hit with the QB, either Shedeur, or a rookie next year.. this team can rise REALLY fast.

"now here's what I want ya'll to do for me"
the entire world is interested in #2. this trade talk is a joke. he'll sellout stadiums AWAY!
that gives us leverage & If he's kinda good? maybe more TV games too. If we traded,
to a team with great D & run game. SB. remember baker? yeah,we won the draft
& that is a big part of us ranking out too.^

According to "Mr.Ball Knower" QCT... We're not rebuilding... And I still maintain.. We're still trying to win while building for Brookpark..

I'm going with quasi rebuild. I know the players that we're counting on are young but they're talented and hungry. We're a decent starting QB from contention and I'm counting on Watson to rebound. If that doesn't happen then pfft cause I'm not a Sanders believer.
