Pure speculation, but what if Monken is the perfect fall guy? He’s in his 60s and has never been an NFL head coach. The Browns could quietly tank, let him take the blame, and fire him after one season. The narrative practically writes itself: a first-time head coach who never should’ve gotten the job.

Meanwhile, Cleveland walks into 2027 with a shot at its franchise QB and a clean slate to hire a new coach. If that were actually the plan, it would be diabolical...and kind of genius.
