Cavaliers 2025 - 2026 season

Seeing the Beard in a Cavs uniform............... seemed unreal. like it was with Donovan and Shawn Kemp, heck knew Shaq was at the end.
guys like that ...... well you know. don't get me wrong I hope this works out for us and him. it's just that 16 year track record out there.

Bursts of scoring. Somebody to help take the scoring load off of Mitchell... especially late in games.

Harden dropped 15 in the 4th... when Mitchell needed help the most.

Harden in the 4th Quarter
• 15 points
• 4/4 FG
• 4/4 FT

I wonder who said that is what Harden will bring to the table. 🤔

Harden is more calculating with a killer instinct mentality... Garland was more desperation and was soft..

Making big men around him better.

Jarrett Allen
- 29 points
- 10 Rebounds

"Jarrett Allen is 11/12 because James is hitting him in the pocket & finding him on the roll. With James, his number one attribute was that he makes others better. He makes people around him better. That’s why this is a fit for us & good to see it manifest itself tonight." - Kenny Atkinson after Cavs win

Merrill is starting to piss me off... He is not worth what we are spending on him...
He was hot earlier in the season, then he got hurt and hasn't been as productive. With the Harden addition he'll see less opportunities as will Tyson and others. When Struss comes back he could see more 2nd string looks with them pairing up but who knows?

Our biggest concern going into this season was doing better in the playoffs. not beating the Kings on a road game.
So trading for a future HOF er with the worst playoff numbers of his generation if not all-time. a good idea ?
What are the odds that helps us ?
It's the most desperate move in Koby's tenure.

Not to mention that the best the Clip's could get for Harden was Darius Garland. AYKM

Nobody is saying "CHAMPIONSHIP!".

It was a move that was needed on a team that was stuck after winning the 1st round of the playoffs. A team that is a pain in the ass but beatable. It drops the salary by 10 million more after this season with Ellis, Wade and Nance Jr all being a FA's and add Harden's salary after the 2026-27 season.

I think the trade is saying the future core is Mitchell, Mobley and Allen. Affordable guys Merril, Tyson, Proctor & Schroder are here for a few more years, but everyone is here relative to their development.

Cavs Payroll

Why not ?

Look at that Core. when is Donovan going to be better ? Allen too. I question the same about Mobley lately. when is he going to hit those weights like Giannis did. 4 years ago he was suppose to be better than him. by now.

Tyson is the only guy that looks like he will be better the next 2 years and ready for a huge deal after that. without him stepping up this season Where would we be ? 5-8 wins less ? he looks like a lottery pick.

Championship is what Donovan is ALL about and Koby knows it. and why he made this deal. that core must step up and not lean on Harden to get there. let him just be #3 for once and see if it can work that way. fingers crossed.

You tell me?

Koby having his worse season yet. trading Isaac Okoro for Lonzo Ball now we don't have anything and had to give up 2 draft picks to unload Ball.
I knew this was a bad move from the start but it just got worse. I know you can't win every trade but this was a unforced error.
then he lets Ty Jerome walk. the most solid bench player since Hot Rod ? smh

Harden is gonna change the entire mindset and tone of this team.
Not really what we need. this is a 64 win team. we needed growth from within and a push at the most this season. the book on Harden is wide open. it hasn't worked in the playoffs when he's been a #1 or a #2(philly). this is frankly on Mobley. he must become the solid #2.
we've seen it at times where he's been "That Guy", we need it every night. that is our path to the Finals.

Okoro brought nothing to the table... and we needed a back-up PG given Garland's injury situation. Seeing that Koby translated that ultimately into a salary dump that could help get us under the 2nd apron... Koby did just fine with addition by subtraction.

As it relates to Ty Jerome, we had him a very team friendly $2.5M annual contract. He got a 3 year, $28M contract in FA, which we couldn't match with our cap situation. Oh... and as far as bench players go, in the biggest playoff series of the year, Jerome scored, 21, 2, 2, 7, 8 and and a +/- of 10, -5. -15. -4, 1. You cry about Harden and his playoff production, yet Jerome provided nothing in the playoffs when we needed it most vs the Pacers.

The bench is much better right now with with Ellis, Schroder and Tyson (getting starts as well) than it was last year. So if you think this was a bad season for Kobe, you don't know ball.

Merrill went off last night but I'm not sure who that 5th starter is going to come from Merril, Tyson or Schroder?

Might just be a matchup decision by Atkinson.
I see it more as a rotational thing regarding matchups and whose got the hot hand.... I think Atkinson has done well with what he has had to work with... I think hes done pretty well guiding the ship...
