Browns - Drew Allar, QB | Page 2 | Barking Hard

Browns Drew Allar, QB

I didn't see the game. Is it possible Penn St has no reliable WR's? Was he throwing to the RB's & TE's all night and was this the gameplan?

I'm pulling for the kid, but the Browns scouts are likely looking only at how he throws the ball, footwork, arm strength and if he's elusive and/or mobile.

It's hard to tell about Penn State's WRs, Allar was so off target. I don't like to judge a QB based on one game, but Allar was not ready for the moment. He had guys very open and he didn't come close to hitting them. Decent QB play and Penn State wins that game easily.

Looking at stats I saw Penn St ran the ball a ton. I thought maybe it could be the gameplan influenced a lack of opportunities for him.
That sucks for the local kid. He needs another year and he'll be against more talent then.

I don't think there's any question. ND won the coaching in the 2nd half. Throwing back to the middle of the field with less than a minute could be a coaching decision. It's not there, throw it out of bounds, should have been his orders. I don't know. But I can't imagine a coach who would not have puckered when Allar turned to the middle of the field. And given the way the offense had been going, get to overtime and run it down their throats. One of the worst ideas I've ever seen in a college game -- throw it late to the middle into coverage with less than a minute from your own 25 in a tied game for the national semifinals. Perhaps Touchdown Jesus intervened. Wow!
