Favorite Bands/Music

The Offspring (hmm... that was tough to figure out)
Rise Against
Pearl Jam
The Who
Iron Maiden
Queen
Avenged Sevenfold
Megadeth (I like the mix of thrash and underwhelming, amusingly so, lyrics)

ONE OF THESE THINGS IS NOT LIKE THE OTHERS. ONE OF THESE JUST DOESN'T BELONG.

Muse! Muse is probably my favorite band. I love the classical influence they bring to rock.

Other bands I like are:
Coldplay
Breaking Benjamin
Linkin Park
The Who
Journey
Michael Jackson (not quite a band, but... whatever)

I also love orchestral music. Hans Zimmer (film score composer) is awesome.

Classic rock

Led Zeppelin
Who
Rolling Stones
Pink Floyd
The Doors
Aerosmith

(somewhat) More Modern

AC/DC
Metallica
U2
Linkin park
Disturbed

Obscure (if you liked most of the other bands listed, check these guys out)

The Union Underground

Anything classified as rock is good with me,
Metal
Classic
Current
Blues
Its all good,I grew up wanting to be John Bonham and was heavily into Zeppelin,as long as its decent im in.
No cookie monster vocal type stuff or anything to wild but just good rock&roll.

I was just thinking about a thread like this. :D

Grateful Dead
Dave Matthews Band (This years tour is great! I know its sacrilege to say it but the band might be better live without LeRoi.)
John Coltrane
The Beatles
Pink Floyd

Whew, thats a tough list to make. I tried to limit it to a top five.
Honorable Mention:
Led Zepplin
Bela Fleck
Bill Monroe
Jefferson Airplane
The Who

Too many to count...

Oooh!! Like this thread - be prepared for a long list- I really love music.

Older:
Beach Boys (Brian Wilson dominates all)
Zep
The Who
Clapton/Cream/Derek
Dire Straits
Steely Dan
Yes
Rush
Queen
The Police
Ernest Ranglin
Doc Watson
Willy
Waylon
Jimi
Stevie
Allmans
Skynyrd

Less old (my HS & college "into the music scene" years): (lets say '94-02)
Talking Heads (How good is '77?)
Texas is the Reason
Sunny Day Real Estate
Hum
Appleseed Cast
At the Drive In
Hot Water Music
AFI (same guys, completely different band/sound)
The Getup Kids
Robert Randolph
Damien Jurado
The Shins
Mason Jennings
Nick Drake
Genesis (Gabriel & Collins Fronted)
'Spread (+10 Douche points for calling them that)
Tommy Guerrero (Former member of the Bones Brigade skate team - check him out, he's a rad blues guitarist now)

I've mellowed quite a bit and I still listen to all of it, but here's some more that didn't really fit into either:
Allison Krauss
Bruce Hornsby
Metallica (1st 4 albums only)
Pearl Jam
Paul Simon
Stewart & Winfield

And the 1st cd I ever owned (dad was huge into music - made me learn who sang each Beatles tune) I got when I was 8. I saw them on MTV and thoought they were awesome. Their cover of the Talking Heads Memories Can't Wait is why I picked up a guitar.
Living Colour - Vivid
Still have the cd. Vernon Reid was my Eddie Van Halen. Dad got so sick of hearing it, he went out and bought me Axis: Bold as Love like half a year later. I've been hooked ever since.

Nick Drake

^^^The best.

My choices:

Air
Animal Collective
Beirut
Belle and Sebastian
Bright Eyes
Descendents
Guster
Grateful Dead
Lush
Mew
Mogwai
My Morning Jacket
Nada Surf

Old 97's

Ok here is some of my favorite bands:

311
Blink 182
Oasis
Foo Fighters

I mostly listen to Alternative music and Rock, but I like all forms of music except Country and most Rap/Hip Hop.

Pretty much describes me in a nutshell as well. I don't mind a little super mainstream country in small doses. Toby Keith or Shania vid.

U2 (their earlier stuff)
Green Day
AC/DC
Metallica
Oasis
Nickelback
Red Hot Chilli Peppers
Blink-182

And I'll add this:

Band whose popularity is most confusing to me: Coldplay

I mean, they're ok, I'll lisen to them, but I'm not getting what the all of the fuss is about.

It's really easier for me to list what I WON'T listen to: country and hip-hop.

I like to listen to jazz, big band/swing, classic rock, oldies, showtunes...

I will admit that if it's less than 25-30 years old, I've probably never heard it or heard of it.

Some favorites: Joe Walsh (solo and with both the Eagles and James Gang), Beatles...

To give you an idea the CD's currently at my desk are:

Rod Stewart (Best of)
Sade (Best of)
Seal
Abbey Road
White Album
Sgt. Pepper
Pure Moods
Long Road Out of Eden (Eagles)
Carly Simon
Etta James - heart of a woman
Dr. John - Duke Elegant
John Mellencamp (Best of)
Joe Walsh (Best of)

And an obsure one: Willie Love - Lyrics from the heart. This guy was our bus tour driver on a tour in the Bahamas like 7 years ago. I had to buy that CD!!! lmao

Dave meniketti the lead singer/guitar player turned down Ozzy, Whitesnake, and Van halen and stuck with his band and is one of the best most underated guitar players ive ever heard.

Haha, well my screen name comes from Mr Deck. Spelling slightly different. However he's kinda encapsulated in the Wu Tang clan.

He came to Wilmington a few years back and played a small night club called the Soap Box with DJ Storm. He did all of Wu Tang's shit, and he fucking rocked it. He came in with no fan fair, and was standing in the back of the club sippin' on a Heineken waiting for his set to begin. It was really cool, I got to go up to him and talk for a few minutes, super cool guy.

I also like Onyx.

Also another favorite of mine is Matisyahu, I love his shit.

Bob Marley is another favorite of mine
