I think that with all draft picks, most do not show they have 'it' right away. What I do have confidence in is that Peppers is a skilled kid with a nose for the game and if he puts his head down and does this job better than the job that he was tasked with last season... (don't even get me started man wtf we all knew the strategy was fucked and we did it all year. Yeah we didn't have a true FS but we also clearly had no better plan... THAT IS HOW BAD IT WAS!!!) I digress but the job Peppers had last year was fucked. This year we should hopefully see him used in a much more logical manner where he can mix it up and disrupt the play a lot closer to the line of scrimmage than 20 yards away like every time.

Yeah I cant account for his missed snaps but hopefully that 'accountability' we like to hear Triple G preach will fall on him because he's not a rook anymore.

Don't know. He was a SS who was the best option at FS that Gregg had last year for reasons already addressed. Gregg seems to like him, and I plan to reserve judgement until Gregg changes his mind. I will tell you one thing. I place a hell of a lot more stock in what Gregg thinks than anyone here.

Then he was a strong safety not deserving of a first round pick obviously. And I say that because he couldn't beat out our scrubs at the position. Who was our SS last year again?

You are missing the point. We literally had no other option at FS last year. Peppers may have not been a good option at FS, but he was the best we had. We did have a viable option at SS. His name was Derrick Kindred. This year, we have an outstanding option at FS. His name is Damarious Randall. Therefore, Peppers will be able to compete with Kindred for a starting job at his more natural position. We will see how he does in his more natural position.

I am not ready to give up on Peppers until he has a chance to prove himself one way or the other at his natural position.

Okay, to make the argument absurd, suppose Joe Thomas (in his prime) was the best running back on your team. Indeed, suppose he was the only viable running back you have. And suppose you have other options at left tackle. Okay so you have to play him at running back. Do you insist that he needs to be cut because the coaches had to play him at running back? :)

True I agree. But he should have a role and not be a freelancer on a 10-man defense.
Early Troy was a great player who could make plays out of nowhere with great skills and awareness.
Late Troy was a freelancer in a 10-man defense who missed more plays than he made because his skills and speed failed him.
Pepper should start to know the defense and excell at a position first. Then he can get more freedom if thats an option. I think SS is a good position for him if he gets to understand the defense and opposing offenses.
 
Suffice it to say, the fairly simple Peppers' story in the NFL is getting some bizarre spin here (!). He did not play FS because it's his natural position OR because he "got beat out" at SS.

I'll just stop there. I'm sure everybody knows the tale, just some are spinning into lunacy based on some wacky sports board agenda. Happens.
