Browns MILES GARRETT TRADE??

So obviously, the media likes to bring this up. But what about you, Barking Hard members. Do we trade Garrett now during a "sort of" rebuild with a new coach? Can he even be traded with that contact? I have my doubts teams will have the cap space to make this trade. Garrett would have to approve a trade so it has to be a contender, due to his "no trade clause" contract.

I propose that we could, and we should trade him since he's at maximum value right now; but not until AFTER the draft so we secure at least one additional 2027 first round pick. Sure, next years QB class is absolutely loaded and we can get a great prospect anywhere in the top 20 picks because it's so loaded. BUT... having TWO first rounders next year would give us the power to get absolutely our first or second choice I'd imagine... and if Shedeur steps up and shows that he is the QB1 of the future.. what we could stack power around him after our (at this time) 9 picks this year. I don't see us challenging for the superbowl this year. We can elevate this team behind a brand new QB1, either Shedeur or whoever we get next year and launch this team into power for the next decade.. not to mention we'd get MORE than just 1additional first round pick for next year. WHAT DO YOU THINK???

My 2 cents

Pre-June 1 trade: Triggers a large dead cap hit in 2026—reportedly around $41 million (down from a potential ~$70 million pre-restructure). This would hammer the Browns' cap immediately, limit roster-building/maintaining, and force them to absorb most of the accelerated money in one year.

Post-June 1 trade: Allows the dead cap hit to be split across 2026 and 2027 (e.g., something like ~$15–16 million in 2026 and the rest in 2027, depending on exact figures). This saves cap space in the current year (potentially $8 million or more in effective relief) and spreads the pain, making it far more manageable for a team with tight cap constraints.

However, we have AB as the GM. Unless he's been given some kind of reassurance from Haslam like "you're good for 2026 and 2027, even if we end up FUBAR'd", then I don't think AB, post-June 1, will be trading Garrett, for possibly the next GM.

Unless, of course, Haslam steps in and says "do-it".

Let's trade Myles and our 2nd rounder, to Dallas for two 1sts this year, and one first next. We'll even pay most of the contract still

Jerry gets:
  • Myles as his "2026 first round pick" on a deal (because the Browns take most of the salary burden)
  • 2026 pick #39
  • Still has a first rounder for 2027 (they currently have two)
Jimmy gets:
  • Two more 2026 first rounders, for a total of FOUR 2026 firsts
  • An extra first for 2027

AB then:
  • Trades Sanders and a pile of firsts to move all the way up and select Mendoza
:ROFLMAO:

As I alluded to in another thread ...

If Sanders + Myles works this year, then let's roll.
If Sanders doesn't work, then we use Myles as a trade piece to get draft assets during the off season of 2027. Maybe
