Browns Myles Garrett demands to be traded.

Schefter says the Mack trade is a good reference:

Bears received:

• Khalil Mack
• 2020 second rounder
• 2020 fifth rounder

Raiders received:

• 2019 first rounder
• 2020 first rounder
• 2020 third rounder
• 2019 sixth rounder

Also notes Lamar Jackson asked to be traded. Very public about it. Then signed an extension a month later.

The path to trading Myles:

TL;DR version

1) It'll sting financially, no matter what, in order to spread out the cap hit

2) It'll HAVE to be a post June-1 trade

3) The Browns simply don't have to do it, so a hefty comp could happen, but it'll be for the 2026 draft and beyond

4) The team who acquires him will take a minimal cap hit themselves, so that's good

5) But, they have to poney up a Crosby+ sized deal

6) No mention in the article was made of the "trade to a contender" part of this. My 2cents is the Bears could thread that needle.

So…

Step 1) Draft a QB THIS year

Step 2) Trade Myles this summer and stockpile picks for 2026

Step 3) If this year's QB doesn't work out, then draft another one in 2026

Step 4) 2027 we are officially out of cap hell

Step 5) 2029 Brook Park move results in a roomier locker room, which culminates into a Super Bowl win.

I really hope AB is holding out for 3 #1's or something like that. Otherwise trade him.

It's far more likely they will trade him subsequent to a new contract with his new team and the Browns can wiggle out from under his current one.

How quickly things can turn.

Many sided with Garrett when he first came out requesting a trade. Now that has completely shifted.

I mean, you can't be the guy who gives the organization an ultimatum of "me or Baker", which pushes for the Watson move... Then turn around and want out because the situation you helped create has, for the most part, been a failure.

I believe they will trade him after June 1st due to the cap implications. Unfortunately we, the fans, won't see the draft bounty this April.
