Browns New dome progress thread

How would have people felt if they moved the Browns out to Vermilion?

Wouldn't have been cool with it. Though I've said it before, Haslam is hell bent on changing everything that makes the Browns the Browns, Cleveland and Ohio should have just told him to go to hell, if you're that obsessed with it Jimmy then move the team elsewhere and change the name and colors.

Moving that far like other owners have is crazy.

Moving to Brook Park is ok considering the new stadium is on the south side of Brookpark Rd and the north side of Brookpark Rd is Cleveland proper. Cleveland is literally across the street.

Yeah, I'm up the the change. Sure, I would have rather had a magic wand to fix the terrible egresses on the lake, make the city more walkable, and put a retractable dome on the water front. But the estimates were around 10B for all of that.

It'll help free agents too. Having the worse and smallest NFL locker room doesn't "help" anything.
Now we'll have a fresh practice facility in Berea, and a state of the art stadium.

I for one am glad we're among the other new-stadium teams, like the Rams, Chargers, Vikings, Titans etc.

Having said that, to each his own and all.

Yeah, this is Cleveland and we don't need a lame ass dome. It's not who we are, nor what we are about. The other issues are miniscule.

I for one am not cool with this piss poor Owner flushing the Cleveland Browns identity down the toilet just because he wants a fucking dome to make billions more on top of the billions he already has.

I thought a retractable dome would be perfect.

I was at that Bills snow bowl game and it sucked. My beer was getting slushy, as was my face after getting blasted with tons of sticky snow pellets. I was in the dawg pound when Dawson kicked the FG. The trajectory was insane. It started well left of the goal posts and I first thought he missed it. Then the wind quickly pushed it back in but it looked like it was going to be wide right before going through.

Absolutely nothing will be better. This is Cleveland, not pampered ass Los Angeles. Haslam should focus more on winning football games and less on rebranding uniforms and helmets every few years, lame AF some stadiums and all of that garbage.

I had to rethink this a little bit... This will actually help the city of Cleveland if you look at the big picture..... it will mean getting the SB.. The final 4... other attractions... Most of the people will be staying downtown... They can put a big convention area where the current stadium and Burke sit and put more hotels and recondition the lakefront.. As much as I would like it all downtown.. I realize times are a changin.. When I'm dead and gone... It won't matter...

AFC North has never hosted a SB, the only division that hasn't. Even the NFC East hosted one (NY).
anyone think Detroit or Minnesota would have hosted SBs outdoors? nope.

No other AFCN team is home to the origins of football with Canton down the road.

Having said that, I’ve read even if the full Brownstown footprint occurs as currently planned, we don’t meet the NFL’s minimum hotel bed quota.

Not yet.
There are hotels in Great Northern Mall area. Two next to Wal Mart and another by the Cleveland side of Airport parking of Rocky River Dr. Brook Park has a hotel right on Snow Rd by 71. They used to have three of them right there.

Anyway the point is the area is not bereft of hotels and the new one being built with the new stadium is likely for teams, players and other entertainers and their crews. Plus I heard it mentioned the new Berea complex will have one too. I might be wrong on that.

Not dome news, but also not thread worthy, but kind of in context for here ...
