Of Local Interest. Mostly fishing and hunting for me.

I just had my one-acre pond put in last year and stocked it, but didn't fish it. I waited for this year and I was just out there today. The Bluegill and Bass are already active! Catfish will be later. They like very warm water.

Hell yeah!
I love to go fishing and now I can do it in my own backyard! I'm still working out the kinks as it's a new pond. I'm looking to add more structure than the few rocks and twigs that I've put in already.

I take it you fish too?

I just came back in from feeding the fish in my pond. Fish food pellets like you would see in some parks where you feed Carp. It's the time of year where the fish have snapped out of hibernation, but in my pond there aren't enough feeder minnows established yet. I've seen a few nice largemouth in the 2lb range and several big bluegill. The catfish are still chilling at the bottom.

That's my property showing my pond. At the bottom there is a 100 yard shooting range at an angle. FUN FUN FUN FUN FUN!!

Also my wife has a degree in landscape design from OSU/ATI in Wooster. I could not have done it myself. I'd have been cutting grass on the whole damn property.

Oh how I mis bluegill! Can't find them too much out west, I think the nearest lake they stock bluegill in is a 5 hour drive. I am stuck fishing rainbow trout mostly. I would love to catch and fry up some bluegill again.

Yes it is. I had to fight for everything I have and it's not a ton, but I think I maxed out my potential considering I'm pretty much a knucklehead and not a rocket scientist. I've been lucky that I had a lot of good people give me good advice early in life and I was humble enough to listen. 😬

I'd love to fish Rainbows my friend. We got to take what we can get when we can.

It depends where you are fishing. Some lakes are catch and release like my pond. Other lakes are you can take anything you want and still others are you can take certain species and each species has a minimum size and/or weight. That's a nice Rainbow trout my son caught way back in 2000 on the Rocky River west of Cleveland. I held it for the pic because he was struggling.
