Offensive Coordinator

Actually, Norv is a great OC but a bum HC, I'd take him as OC in a heartbeat.

Now hear me out without laughing.
I'd can George McDonald our WR coach then demote Daboll to WR coach/ assistant OC.
Our QB coach Carl Smith was a pretty solid OC in the past with the Saints and the Jags, 13 total years of experience at the position, so I'd relive him of QB duties and move him to OC (he hasn't produced a single decent QB yet as a QB coach, why let him continue damage goods?).
That leaves QB coach open.
I'd try to hire Ohio native and current Gators QB coach Scot Loeffler as QB coach. He's helped produce current QBs Brian Griese, Tom Brady and Chad Henne while serving as QB coach for the Wolverines.

Fully agree on Norv. Great OC, horrid HC.

I don't know enough about McDonald to say one way or the other on him. I don't blame him for the drops. He wasn't here last year and guys were just as bad (I still say look at the common denominator when it comes to them).

With you on Daboll. Anything to get him away from the offensive game plan and play calling.

I don't thik Smith was all that good or successful in JAX. From 2005 to 2007 they weren't exacty an exciting offensive team. It was pretty much give it to Fred Taylor. The Saints, well they were the Saints when he was there (the not good Saints). Though in both cases he didn't exactly have the best option at QB. His time at NE wasn't all that great either.

I don't think he is really that good of a QB coach myself. I think he and Dabs need to go.

Love your idea for the new QB coach.

Well, Smith ran a BETTER offense than Dabs is running now, he's experienced and probably the best option available to us atm.
Really, I'd love to see Norv as our OC, great offensive mind.
If McDonald can't teach a SINGLE WR to catch, time to fly. Seriously, Robo came to us the most NFL ready WR in the draft with EXCELLENT HANDS then as soon as he went under McDonald's wings Robo went butterfingers on us. MoMass looked great in the preseason before our WR coach had a chance to sink his teeth in and damage those goods as well. Nope, the guy doesn't deserve a job scrubbing leftover doughnuts from between Roger's 2nd and 3rd chin much less a WR coach.

I've put A LOT of thought into Scot as a pro QB coach. I played with him and he's a smart and all around great guy. I've studied game film with him in HS and his defensive presnap breakdowns rivaled those that Bernie give on Browns home games.
he's got a knack of simply explaining things that makes him easy to understand and learn from.
Did I meantion great guy? He's a class act.

PS, thanks for the reply, I appreciate the acknowledgment that someone actualy bothered to read one of my more longwinded posts.

I'd agree Smith ran a better O that what we are subject too right now. I'd just like to set the bar a little higher :D

I hear you now on McDonald. Robo is a really good example of it. But I wonder if part of Robo's struggles catching at times in camp and preseason was just nervers. In that he knew he was possibly competing for a starting job and just pressed. MoMass had a knack for drops coming in, so not sure I can pin that on McDonald. MoMass scouting report read almost like BE's. Makes the athletic "wow" catch but loses concentration at times on the easy ones. I'd agree McDonald hasn't seemed to do the WR any favors though.

Loeffler sounds like a class act. I am sure if CLE doesn't get him, someone in the pros will soon based on what you just said.

From DA:

(On how he keeps from getting upset)- "I was talking to Dabs (Brian Daboll) yesterday about it and he was like, 'I thought you did a good job and just kept going.' I think he got a little bit more frustrated than I did. I understand, this happened before, it's not like it's the end of the world. I continue to be confident in those guys and make sure they know I trust them. The ball is going to keep coming. It's not the end of the world. We have thrown and caught it well. Both of those guys have caught the ball really well. We are going to keep working on it this week."

First, sorry about the mis-info on that Jagodzinski guy...I had read something today that mentioned him. It could have been an old post (didn't pay attention to the date). Then I checked wiki...and we all know how reliable THAT is!! lmao

Thanks for correcting me!

I know this is beating a dead horse (again and again)...but maybe, just maybe it's not all the WR's fault.

I can excuse rookie mistakes, and learning a system, and even nerves...but I'm also more inclined to think the balls that are getting thrown to them now are HARDER to catch (for any number of reasons).

In other words, I wouldn't necessarily write off a WR coach if he doesn't have a decent QB to deliver the ball, you know?

Was Dabs' Mangini's OC at the Jets before he left? Where did Dabs come from? I mean, are we SURE about Mangini's loyalty there or maybe he's not afraid to find someone else...

From what I have read recently, they have worked together the last few years.
