I know, they’re meaningless, but since we did well ...

Kiper, right after the draft, gave us an A+ last year, sighting Graham, Schwes, and Fannin (and of course, he's a massive Sanders fan).
He was right, and is tooting his own horn about his 2025 grade on us.

(apparently the host city Steelers fans are whining about their draft … that’s a shame)

“Favorite pick: Spencer Fano, OT, Utah

The Browns found outstanding value with each pick while also attacking key needs. Landing Emmanuel McNeil-Warren outside the top 50 was tremendous value, and both wide receivers will have opportunities. But I’ll go back to their first pick (acquired in a trade back that also netted Cleveland an extra Day 2 pick). Fano has rare movement ability for his size, top-tier football IQ and competitive toughness, plus he can play multiple spots on the line.


Day 3 pick who could surprise: Joe Royer, TE, Cincinnati

Justin Jefferson is an ascending player with big-time speed; tight end Carsen Ryan has “make it” traits; center Parker Brailsford is undersized but has tremendous movement skills. However, Royer has an opportunity to make an immediate impact, with a skill set that favorably complements Harold Fannin Jr.”

Only three '27 picks from the rounds 1-5 were traded.
Two of them were acquired by Andrew Berry

1. Eagles sent a '27 third to Minny in Jonathan Greenard deal
2. Giants sent '27 fourth to the Browns to get Fields
3. Seattle sent a '27 fourth to the Browns for a '26 fifth

Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated reveals the pivotal moment that sealed the Browns-Chiefs draft trade, detailing how Andrew Berry finalized the deal after one key question to Kansas City.

"Veach’s offer came after the Giants took Reese, putting Cleveland on the clock. It’d include the top-100 pick (No. 74) that Berry coveted, plus a fifth-round sweetener (No. 148). The trade-off on the draft value chart—the picks Browns were getting add to 1,602 points, the sixth pick is worth 1,600—was just about perfect. But Berry asked for one thing to push the deal past the goal line. He wanted to know whether Kansas City would be taking an offensive or defensive player. Veach answered defense. Berry agreed to the terms. The Browns have their left tackle."
