Browns Pick #144, Sheduer Sanders, QB, Colorado

Scrub team?
Maybe. But none of this list is on Sanders:

• We had 4 or 5 starting OL out
• We couldn’t run the ball at all
• Special teams a mess today
• Browns have the 32nd ranked WR room
• Those throws were dimes to well covered receivers. Not schemed-up cake passes.

This wasn’t a 10-2 healthy Shannahan team who inserted Sanders.

But I’m not giving him any QBoF anointment.
But I do want to see more.

Just my 2¢ as always
Jeffery Simmons destroyed our offensive line today all by himself.

So, it's totally fine to be happy about his performance yesterday, even though it was loss.
Now, going forward, he only has one defense that sucks he'll play against, and it's the Bengals.

Let's see if he can at least tread water for the Bears, Bills, and Steelers over the rest of this month.

Here are the defenses he has left to face:

Bears -
CategoryStat (per game)NFL Rank
Points allowed25.825th
Total yards allowed357.325th
Rushing yards allowed132.527th
Passing yards allowed224.821st

Bills -
CategoryStat (per game)NFL Rank
Points allowed21.613th
Total yards allowed304.58th
Rushing yards allowed141.330th
Passing yards allowed163.21st

Steelers -
CategoryStat (per game)NFL Rank
Points allowed24.120th
Total yards allowed365.128th
Rushing yards allowed117.717th
Passing yards allowed247.428th

Bengals -
CategoryStat (per game)NFL Rank
Points allowed31.232nd
Total yards allowed410.032nd
Rushing yards allowed153.331st
Passing yards allowed256.832nd

For comparison, here's where the Titans defense ranked

Titans -
CategoryStat (per game)NFL Rank
Points allowed27.329th
Total yards allowed345.824th
Rushing yards allowed127.622nd
Passing yards allowed218.318th

After taking the evening to soak it in and rewatch the tape, here's where we are at:

He played phenomenal.... Against a garbage Defense. But, he did well.

Currently he is dealing with an absolute retard at Head Coach, garbage WR's and a garbage OL. Sanders and Judkins are carrying the load.

If he can perform well, it doesn't need to be great or lights out, but if he performs well this last stretch, against good Defenses with garbage pails surrounding him, the case can be made to give him the starting job next year and completely rebuild the Offense. Absolutely.

If he struggles though, or falls on his face, do you really take that risk and pass on a Mendoza, or Klubik, or Allar? No, you pull the trigger.

Single highest pressure rate of any QB all season is nuts when you think the offense put up 400+ yards, and other than Quinshon's 26 yards, it was all Sanders through the air or on the ground.

Crazy man. Most pressure of the year, horrible special teams, nearly zero running game, behind a patchwork OL. Next week's stats can only be less.

Some said last spring he would be good for Cleveland because he's used to producing in chaos.
Welp, at least yesterday, that was totally true.

Not counting the 2nd half of the Ravens game, and only his 3 starts, here's about where Sanders is sitting relative to some others in passer rating:

93.0 Burrow
92.9 Sanders
92.7 Herbert
91.2 Mahomes
90.6 Mayfield
.

80.8 Gabriel
77.4 Wilson
74.9 Ward
73.0 Taylor
