Browns Pick #144, Sheduer Sanders, QB, Colorado

Jason Lloyd yesterday trashing Sanders again. Says HE knows from HIS sources he doesn't watch EXTRA film. Meaning, more than the standard, and more than the Stefanski sessions. He doesn't do home stuff.
I personally can't stand him.

What the "I hate the Sanders Army" folks claim is the pro-Sanders crowd feels he's already good. He's for sure going to be a starter. That couldn't be farther from the truth. The pro-Sanders crown simply feels, at this moment in time, he's worth a shot. The Browns fans who are pro-Sanders also simply find it more enjoyable to have a little positive hope.

After everything, there really is not path to re-signing Watson to a big contract, no matter what he does. It'd take a miracle.
And the current free agent options are either re-treads, has-beens, or nerthewells.
So, that's why I'd like to roll with Sanders. Not because it's going to work, but because the draft sucks, Watson ain't happening long term, and the FA bunch is flawed.

Here's yet another article calling out his bullshit take:

Well said. I haven't seen anyone on this forum say Sanders is The Man already. Unless you have some kind of grudge against him because of his dad, I can't see any reason a Browns fan wouldn't be hoping this 5th round pick is the answer to our prayers.

If we draft a QB before the 5th rd just to appease monken Ill be spewn!

we have 2 young prospects from a confusing double down last draft
lets not waste another pick on QB now.wait until '27.aquire picks.
the UDFA pool will be exceptional this draft.

I'm not a Sanders fan. I am willing to wait & see. He needs work and he should be working to get better. I'd think that means watching film of defenses. Particularly in our division. It also means getting his drops, footwork and balls on point. I don't mean footballs either.

He has to learn to stay in the pocket, under pressure, stand tall or step into the pocket and deliver strikes. I think that's one of his biggest issues other than reading defenses post snap. It's an issue for all young QB's btw and it can be overcome with game reps.

These things take time and he hasn't had enough time to determine if he's figured it out.

The 'what if' that nobody wants to talk about or they're intentionally ignoring is - what if Watson is our QB1, returns to form under QB whisperer Monken and leads the Browns to the playoffs?

Monken is great with QB's. We can go through his history and his QB's produce. Watson will be healthy and is under contract - and has the same skill set (except can be a better passer) as Lamar Jackson... who Monken just led to his best year ever and NFL MVP.

I'm not saying it is happening, but it is a very real 'what-if'.

I believe we will roll with either Watson or Sanders to see what we have and Haslam still will sell a kidney to try and acquire Arch next season. We'll see how it all plays out. But Monken won't sit quietly and let Berry tell him who is QB will be... I promise you that.
