My biggest complaint about Garrett has always been that he doesn't play every play with conviction. He's a very talented specialist. Verse is like Fannin, an all-out baller, heart of team like player. I love this trade. Don't hate Garrett. Not sad he's gone.

With Verse & Wright, we’ll have high-end edges again. It’s just not our bottleneck to get wins.
Never was, and still isn’t without Myles … who didn’t practice all last week due to injury.
He’ll probably be fine of course, but Verse shows up every day with energy. We’re all digging that.
The only way this trade doesn’t work out for us is if we still can’t get the HC/QB combo right. It’s always been the issue, as we all know.

Me too. Some are spitballing he's old and now breaking down, but Myles has always taken his vet days off + soft-injury days.
He tends to play hurt, to his credit. I'd love to have it play out we got rid of him at the perfect time, but really, he prob has 3 year left minimum, and is motivated by personal records, so he'll likely push though.

It did fit the description of a Garrett-centric defense.
Probably a large reason the D was middle of the pack in scoring D.
Sacks don't necessarily keep the other team from scoring enough to get the W.
Looks like they finally moved on with both Schwartz and Myles gone.

I'll say this. Having a top-10 pass rusher ranked at #1 vs #10 isn't the difference between winning in the playoffs and not.
Ftr, there were over 200 players who took snaps at edge last year.
This has a chance to be a good trade, or even very good.
What do I think will happen? We'll continue to botch the QB room, have plenty of L's annually, and so everyone will quickly point to "well, they traded Myles, and (conclude) so yeah, of course they still suck".
